Hi, do you supply refined, or crude oil? |
These posts are very interesting. I am a 2nd generation Nigerian living in America. The financial crisis here will affect Nigeria and other parts of the world. If you haven't noticed it is 2008 and there is GLOBALIZATION- countries are connected and some interdependent on others. The expandable income of American have decrease which means they pump less money in the national economy, which means the federal government must spend LESS money. What does this mean for other countries? 1. Less money borrowed money from foreign countries will be paid back. The US Govt borrows a lot of money from China due to our stupid, soon to be Former President 2. Less products will be imported due to a lack of demand. NIGERIA IS AN EXPORT COUNTRY! Many resources are exported from nigeria, UNMANUFACTURED which is worse. So if the GDP is dependent on the exported products that will have a low demand as the economy worsens, less money will be made. 3. Decrease in Remittances I'm sure some of you have relatives in the States who help financially. Well, that may slow down if it is difficult to pay the mortgage and groceries. 4. Decrease in Foreign Aid Because more money is needed the fight economic depression less money can go to natural disaster victims, or healthcare projects - especially the HIV/AIDS prevention initiative in Africa that the President gave millions for earlier this year. 5. Increase in Tuition This will make it harder for students to get an education and may decrease the granting of student visas. The sponsor in the US has to have the money seasoned in their account. So all in all Nigeria and other countries will be affected in some shape or form. Both positive and negative. A bank failing in America should not bring a positive outlook to anyone in Nigeria. In America even if a bank fails your money is insured by the government up to $100,000 and may soon increase to $250,000. I wonder, is there such thing in Nigeria. Like if Zenith bank fails and has no cash, will the Nigerian Government pay everyone their money back ![]() But I'm voting for BARACK OBAMA ! So things will change with the next Administration.
