EducationRe: Why Olusegun Kayode Bello Was Expelled From The Nigerian Law School - Management by Rasky1(m): 9:30am On Jul 27, 2017
A source close to Olusegun KAYODE Bello in Abuja campus of the Nigerian Law School and who pleaded anonymity said that Olusegun Kayode Bello is a very stubborn fellow who never listened to advice.
His issue with the school started in February where he had an issue with the Head of Control room Mr. Akinyemi over reservation of seat. The school rule is that “reservation of seat” is prohibited. That faithful morning, KAYODE came to class and removed a bag on one of the seats believing it was reserved (though he may be right) but he was told that the person whose bag was on the seat went out few minutes ago.
While he was arguing with the person sitting next to the seat, the owner of the seat came and KAYODE refused to stand up for her. The lady reported to the head of control room Mr. Akinyemi who told KAYODE to look for another sit. Kay Bello refused, instead he picked up a quarrel with Mr. Akinyemi and in the process his ID card was seized.
The next morning, Mr. Olusegun KAYODE Bello filed a petition against Mr. Akinyemi asking for his removal from office on the grounds of corruption and prejudicial in his dealings concerning both genders. He copied this letter to virtually every federal prosecuting authority. He copied the ” President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, The President of the Senate, EFCC, ICPC, DG Nigerian Law School, Chairman Council of Legal Education, PCC etc” and submitted it at the office of the Director General of Nigerian Law School but unfortunately his petition was rejected by the DG.
On this note, KAYODE got angry and wrote another petition against the removal of DG Nigerian Law School, Secretary Council of Legal Education and Head of Control room Mr. Akinyemi. He pasted his petition on every hostel. Everybody including the SRC pleaded with him to withdraw, that even though he wants to fight the management of Law School, he should wait till he get called to the bar but as stubborn as he is, he turned deaf to everybody’s advice, rather he termed it that he is fighting on behalf of the students.
It was at this point the SRC made it known to the entire school that they are not with him and he is not fighting for the students.
KAYODE customized one of his clothes to “ONADEKO, MAX-UBA & MR. AKINYEMI MUST GO” and was wearing it on campus during that period, it took the intervention of some elders who talked sense into him before he stopped wearing that customized cloth.
Recall that KAYODE was 1st evicted from the hostel based on misconduct but he refused leaving the hostel. During the externship, his payment for room to stay on campus during that period was rejected but he stayed believing nothing can happen.
On resumption day, KAYODE was denied entry into his room as he has been evicted from the hostel but refused leaving the hostel premises, rather he collected the keys to ROOM 18 and gain entry to his room through room 18 after breaking the back door to his room.
KAYODE was summoned twice by the Body of Benchers but he refused honouring the summon stating that Law School has failed, refused and neglected a pending petition against it at the PCC. He made it known to everyone that he will never honour their summon unless they first honour his pending petition against them at the PCC.
On a faithful day, all the law school students from Abuja Campus were not surprised when KAYODE was taken away from the Library by some Police men and Law School security guards and the next morning it was pasted everywhere in school that he has been expelled.
Recall that same KAYODE was also expelled from the University after writing petition against his Dean and Vice Chancellor of the school. He was kept at home for five years before he was given admission at the law school.
Another source said Kayode is a brilliant fellow but very stubborn. Nobody advises him.
CrimeNigerian Stop Jungle Justice by Rasky1(op): 4:46pm On Jul 03, 2017
Bayo Adeyinka shared Francis Adebayo 's post .
Paul Chinedu: Why I Detest Jungle Justice
His car spluttered to a stop. No matter how hard he tried, the engine failed to start. He opened the hood. Not knowing what exactly to check out for, he picked his phone and called his mechanic. He had a programme in church on Sunday and he had made up his mind to get there early due to the distance. He lived at Ikorodu and church is at Maryland. The mechanic promised he will come as soon as possible.
Leaving the car on the road, he left for his house. A bit restless, he kept on checking on the mechanic who told him he was on the way. Paul must have been rehearsing the lines he would take in church the next Sunday. An upcoming comedian, he was absolutely devoted to God and was a committed member of the church. Having lost his father at an early age and with a very aged mother, it was to the church he turned to and where he found his succour. His Pastor especially was close to him. He nurtured him through his National Diploma days and he has been on his neck for him to go back to school while still deploying his talent as a funny bone. Absolutely humble, he had requested several times to wash his Pastor's car among other chores. The Pastor too had connected him with several people who needed a Master of Ceremony or comedian at various times. It was a father-son relationship.
Paul kept looking at his watch that Saturday night. He must have thought in his heart, 'Nigerian mechanics never keep to time'. Around 10pm, the mechanic called that he had finally arrived. It was better late than never- or so he thought. His room mate reminded him that it was a bit late but Paul said he couldn't just abandon the mechanic who came all the way to assist him.
So he jumped into the mechanic's car. The mechanic also brought someone along. Most good mechanics never work alone. They always have an apprentice working with them. That's how knowledge is transferred around here. They were all chatting happily as they approached where Paul's car broke down. They didn't know it was going to be an ill-fated journey- one in which they would never return and their memories will be tarnished.
Some vigilante group stopped them. The badoo boys had been terrorizing Ikorodu residents and they were now fed up. Since the government seemed incapable of protecting their lives and properties, they decided to be the law unto themselves. The vigilante group asked them to come down from the mechanic's vehicle. There were so many questions coming at the same time. Where were the three people going at that time of the night? Why did the mechanic's car not have a plate number? Why was there a chain in the mechanic's car? They tried to answer and point to the fact that the chain was for a possible towing of the vehicle.
Not satisfied with the answers, the vigilante descended on them. Anger blinds people from thinking clearly. Paul Chinedu was beaten and brutally murdered. He was cut into pieces and burnt. The same jungle justice was meted out to the mechanic and his apprentice. Three innocent people were sent to eternity in a fit of madness.
I just got off the phone with Francis Adebayo , Paul Chinedu's pastor who is my childhood friend. Francis was crying like a baby as he narrated the story to me. I shed tears as I listened to him pour out his emotions. Francis is the Pastor of Harvest Place at Maryland, Ikeja where Paul Chinedu worships.
Paul Chinedu was never a cultist. He was never a badoo boy- ditto for the mechanic and his apprentice who were just trying to eke out a living. No matter how aggrieved we are, we lose our humanity when we resort to jungle justice. It is better to allow a criminal escape than wrongly kill an innocent person. We must never take the law into our own hands. Paul and the other two people are victims of the system. Just like the hapless people of Ikorodu. Victims making victims of victims. I understand if you wear dreads, you are likely to be profiled as a badoo member. Or if you have a tattoo. Or sag your trouser. Or someone doesn't like your face.
All I can think about now is Paul Chinedu's aged mother. I understand the woman didn't even cry when the sad news was broken to her. That was the son she looked up to in her old age. What dirge will she sing for her son?
Francis Adebayo
He was a NOT BADOO BOY.
HIs name ; Paul Chinedu....his stage name as a comedian ; Think Twice.
Just 2 Sundays ago, he came to meet me in office after the second service in our church, "Daddy", as he fondly calls me, "I want to stage a comedy show in October. Please sir, can you permit me to use the hall?"
I paused, looked at him, and asked him, "what's the title of your show?" He laughed heartily and he said, "Daddy, it's THINK TWICE ...THINK HEAVEN."
I looked at him again and asked, "do you think this requested will be granted?" He said, "yes sir; I know you will support me as your son; you have supported others." and he laughed so heartily again that I had to join in.
I finally said, "OK. Request granted, but sort out the details with the administrator." And he went screaming and jumping everywhere.
I can still see the smile on his face.
Paul got born again in our church and I have known him for about three years now. He was never at anytime a cultist. NEVER.
So sad to hear the way he was murdered last night. So sad.
What kind of a country is this?
Paul, I will miss you,
Harvest Place will miss you.
However we are consoled with this scripture;
Romans 14:8
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
I know you are in heaven Paul.
God will grant all of us the grace and fortitude to bear this loss.
