epainos: Iran cannot win this battle. Never. And Israel too knows that they cannot easily win Iran after fighting Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorists in the past months. So, it can only be US plus Israel.
And the main issue which I have written before is that America isn't hit directly. That's it. If America can be hit back to back, then, we can have a serious discussion.
You might think it's only about using long range missiles. Lol. That cost of such is too much. So, the way to win a war is flying drones and war planes in and out of the battle zone. You want to take the war to the US, fly armed drones and war planes in and out of the US too. And how can you do that when you don't have military bases near the US. Lol.
The US knows the strategy. There is no military bases close to the US. You cannot have such. Never. But the US has such all round the world. Is it possible for Russia, China, or Ukraine to have military basses in Mexico and Canada. Then maritime borders: Russia, Bahamas, Cuba, the UK Virgin Islands, and the British Virgin Islands. Lastly, and Dominican Republic. In all these areas, you cannot have such military bases, except Russia that is also their enemy. And Alaska is very far from DC. Lol.
How exactly did the US have these bases? So, you think the US is a father Xmas giving away free gifts via UN programs? They donate here and there na. So, they ask you for a military bases to e en protect you...and that is it. They captured middle east during the gulf war.
When you think you are stingy like the Chinese who only wants to give out loans with interest, then, you should know that stingy people don't get so powerful. Lets say the Chinese and Russians started artificial intelligence, do you think we will all have almost free information and educational resources to study it? Never? They will hide it. Lol. So, who will give such nations military bases? Lol.
So, before you can take away the world power from the US, you must be ready to be more generous. And it can happen only if you have more money than the US.
Like I wrote in my past posts, I do not see the US leaving the world power seat in out generation. They will keep ruling for at least the next 50 to 100 years. U easily believe trump tweet but shy away from the Iranian official that bragged that they are ready for us, and us citizens saying they loose up to a billion dollars everyday |

Politics › Re: Tax Law: VAT Hits Record ₦1 Trillion As New Sharing Era Begins by Rayjnr: 11:42am On Mar 04 |
nairalanda1: Well, yes, but oil accounts for 80% of government revenue...and that's where the budget comes from. We are oil dependent, essentially. That';s why all our budgets for years have had a oil price benchmark Yeah you are right , I just said we should start from somewhere, Another question, why is it that our only capital project is always road? |
Politics › Re: Tax Law: VAT Hits Record ₦1 Trillion As New Sharing Era Begins by Rayjnr: 11:36am On Mar 04 |
nairalanda1: Well, I did, and note that I did not defend any criminals. Infact, I showed you why your political leaders are bad...up till today, our economy relies on oil alone. Sane nations have diversifed economies, even saner ones(to paraphrase Peter Obi) have manufacutring and productive industries as the basis of our economy. It's not just corruption that is wrong with our leaders, you see.
Well, let's assume we have a leader that would pay social security, unemployed and aged nigerians (and note that I did not say that they should be excused for not paying them, or that they are trying their best)...ie pay all those things for ALL NIGERIANS...including people in the villages and cities, as well as all the unemployed...not just unemployed university graduates.
1. 80% of government revenue comes from oil sales
2.At `under 2 million bpd, oil revenues can only generate about 70 billion dollars.
3. By my estimate, Nigeria would need to be generating somewhere around 500 billion dollars to do what you want. If not more
4. Our leaders are bad because since 1960, they haven't created that type of economy (meanwhile South Korea went from being behind most African nations in 1960 to where it is today).
So, I believe we need to stop corruption, let's make that clear...but on today's revenue, we can't pay all the folks you said they should pay...at the rates they should pay them in your mind.
That is why either we vote in a leadership that makes us a producer of industrial goods and services, and taxes 40% of the gdp or even more...or we forget about it. Because trying to pay unemployed, aged, and provide a social security net..something that developed countries incur a lot of debt doing so...is going to push us into a debt in the hundreds of billions of dollars.
P.S : Don't call me a supporter of corrupt leaders again. It shows you don't get what I am saying. Yes you are right but remember we don't only get revenue from oil, and the reason I'm advocating for social security is that our elites capitalize on excess funds to steal, Look at their capital project, only roads . |
Politics › Re: Tax Law: VAT Hits Record ₦1 Trillion As New Sharing Era Begins by Rayjnr: 10:22am On Mar 04 |
PolyGamous: Lol, I think I understand why the oil rich states are trying to be alone..
Make dem use oil money of states with fewer unemployed people to pay the region with most unemployed people??
You didn’t even say taxpayers’ money, na oil money you target. Try to re examine things before submitting your post But u are happy when elites from the non oil producing region enjoy it abi? See masses defending elites Check owners of oil well in Nigeria before supporting criminals |
Politics › Re: Tax Law: VAT Hits Record ₦1 Trillion As New Sharing Era Begins by Rayjnr: 10:20am On Mar 04 |
nairalanda1: If you want a social security net, then you have to pay taxes at very high rates for it...all of us, including farmers and beggars.
A social security net based on oil earning that cannot pass 100 billion dollars..annually....for 230 million people is basically asking for the government to borrow even more and more money. You know how that would end. Read what I said again please before defending criminals |
Politics › Re: Tax Law: VAT Hits Record ₦1 Trillion As New Sharing Era Begins by Rayjnr: 8:58am On Mar 04 |
Nigerians wake up, these guys are criminals, We ask for social security because we are all stakeholders in Nigeria's oil, not only president, governors and lg chairmen. Pay the unemployed and aged Nigerians. |
