As an Architect, by rule of thumb...no staircase should go more than 16 steps without a landing or rest stop.

You are certainly the only one that knows what is actually wrong without that structure. Some are even talking of rails is if it's been completed already

There's nothing abnormal about the staircase, but the engineer should have put pillar at the middle for enforcement.

In the engineering field, it's actually very abnormal to have such number of risers without a landing at the middle. The landing should have a riser and tread of at least 1.2. metres.
The purpose of landing in a structure is that it actually allows the user to have a rest within that brief rest in that short duration even when the user doesn't even know he's had a rest

You're wrong, it is not the judiciary, it is the prosecutors. It is what you brought before the court that they give judgement on. The charge before the court was a murder case and they gave judgement based on that.

So if one brings a murder case before a court. And the defendant proves otherwise, what is the judge supposed to do? All the evidence is supposed to be looked into in delivering judgement.

It is surprising to know that even the judiciary fully agree with the woman. Or how best can one explain the situation in Edo state when a herdsman attacked a farmer with cutlass and the farmer eventually killed the attacker in self defense. Yet the farmer was sentenced to death for defending his self. It was stated to him that he was supposed to run and not to fight back despite the fact that the attacker has already injured the farmers leg with the matchet.
