I can’t confirm if it’s true but an FIRS staff was telling me that the last batch might come around November/December. The first batch of apl was mostly for politicians, then after that, another batch of apl carried very few people (Like 30 people). Then the last batch will come at the ending of the year. Like I said, I’m not sure if it’s true, but this is what I heard.

There are different categories of senators and reps. The ones that top agencies honor their recommendations are the top ranking senators, ex governors who are now senators, principal officers and senators that come from same state with the MDs/CEOs of these agencies. Sometimes if they have personal relationships with the MDs/CEOs. Membership of Committee where the agency is assigned. Lastly the senators that have been in the Senate for long can help cos they can lobby it for you. But in Nigeria all senators can get you any job if they personally and intentionally want to help you.

Perfectly summed up ….

Sometimes the letter isn’t needed.. he can place a call to the organization and tell his aide to follow up and make sure it’s granted …

Or let me say you want a job in NPA or shippers council which is under blue economy there’s a senator in charge of blue economy so your Senator can just forward your Credentials to him and that’s all …

If he’s an eastern senator you have 10 % chance of being helped but if he’s a northern senator you have 80 %of being helped …..

True, I think NNPC/FIRS has paved the way for most of these big Agencies to start doing open recruitment, at least few will get based on merit.

Until it’s 100% completed we can actually believe them .. NNPC since July nothing has been said

I don’t know much about NPA’s allowances but I think entry level should be about 300k- 320k. My sisters close friend got it, moved to Lagos and quit a year later. He’s back in abuja now doing business because according to him he made more money in abuja through his business and him being in Lagos was an inconvenience.

Depending on how you look at it, firs salary is now good too. Their salary was increased by 60% recently. Their allowances are not too great but at the same time it’s not too bad at all. And depending on your department, some get to do side runs (tax clearance) and a lot more so you can make extra money from that. Some (not all) get to travel out for conferences too. Maybe this chairman will make their allowances much more better and then they are good to go.
If you are looking for prestige, then go for efcc. Their salary isn’t bad. Atleast starting is above 400k. But From what I have heard from their staff, their allowances are very very poor and there is also a problem with promotion. I know one deputy director that left to be a Judge because of this promotion issue. If you are lucky enough to get a good state/department, then you could be making alot more. Those posted to southern states make more money than those posted in the north.
My conclusion is, it’s not just about the money, you can make money from any office. There are some things you should also look out for like staff welfare, promotion etc so you choose which one suits you.

With the tax reform bills going on currently FIRS is gonna be a hot cake by next year…

By the way NPA or FIRS which currently is worth more ?

I introduced him to this thread on Nairaland where we could get information about the agencies. I helped him create a Nairaland account, and we both got all the information he needed. He contacted his uncle, excluding me, and got his APL in a few months. He casually called me one day and told me he got the APL; I congratulated him with no feelings of entitlement.

"Few months ago, I got information related to his agency and called him to ask for help. He said yes, but I had to give him 4M+ before he starts. I asked if the money was for his connect, and he said no, it was his fee for referral work. All pleas and negotiations were abortive, and that was the end.

"Moreover, as weird as life is, strangers tend to help more than friends so I wasn’t surprised and I so also found out he deactivated.

So, this afternoon, I was wondering, what's the purpose of this thread?

70% of us here are using alternate accounts, so it's easy to disappear once they get what they want. Everybody seems nice and humble until they get that APL, and then they vanish.

All of you shouting REA REA once APL is out, that's the end.

As FIRS currently focusing on tax reforms bill before nass, this recruitment process will only proceed after the controversial Bill signed into law. Which may takes end first quarter 2025.

First quarter of 2025 that’s really really far
plus the bills isn’t signed yet ….
Could take half of 2025 and here I was thinking everything would be concluded before January
