Sales Executive - (Job Location – Lagos)

The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic sales executive who is passionate about reading and feels challenged by the prospect of selling books as you would sell a fast moving consumer product. She/he must be sales driven, resourceful and take responsibility for controlling own success in the growth of our business.

Key Tasks

• Promote, sell and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through relationship building for repeat business
• Identify and develop innovative sales lead to include retail outlets (bookshops, supermarkets, pharmacy etc.) and non-retail outlets (hospitals, offices, hotels, restaurants etc.)
• Analyse the different region and market potential to determine the value of existing and prospective customers to our business
• Show books to existing and potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
• Identify and participate in events, conventions and fairs (i.e NYSC camp, educational fairs, setting up roaming book stalls etc)
• Provide management with oral and written progress reports on activities, customers’ needs, problems, interests and market suggestion on books
• Plan and organise personal sales strategy that maximise the Return on Time Investment in your specific territory.
• Keeps abreast of trends, market conditions, competitive activities in the Nigerian book sector.

Publicist (Job Location – Abuja)

The position holder must be an energetic publicist with the ability to develop and implement intensive PR campaigns for our books & authors. The Publicist will be responsible for planning and executing our media campaigns (on TV, radio, print and social media). She/he must understand how to pitch a campaign to journalists, editors and bloggers to represent our story. She/he must be driven and passionate about promoting books and have a can-do spirit.

Key Tasks

• Responsible for implementing original and compelling publicity campaigns for key titles in our four imprints each season through media, industry and author events
• Write press releases, pitch letters, blurbs, author bios, and other promotional materials (blog posts, microsite content, social media updates) with a goal of securing international, national, regional, and local media in print, broadcast, and social media
• Manage and execute all social media strategies across all social media platforms (Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter) including digital advertising strategies
• Orchestrate and oversee multi-city and platform tours, build pre-publicity buzz, media launches, and booking national and local author appearances
• Strengthen and develop relationships with educational institutions, corporations, media and retail contacts in addition to maintaining relationships with authors
• Maintain and strengthen our contact database for each imprint and research unique projects and contribute to social media outreach efforts.
• Act as point person for all publicity and marketing information and initiatives. Eventually, move projects forward as needed with minimal supervision from Publisher
• Create special sales opportunities for our titles and follow through with them
• Keep abreast of trends in African writing, digital publishing, and social media marketing

Qualifications
