A South African pastor, Prophet Penuel, as fondly called by his followers has been ‘doing wonders’ in the most awkward way. The pastor, who is the founder of the End Times Disciples Ministries in South Africa has lots of ways he demonstrates ‘God’s miraculous wonders’ to members of his church. On Sunday, 12 July, 2015, during the Sunday service, the man of God called one of his members simply identified as ‘Thabiso’, he commanded him by the power of God to turn into a horse and according to the church’s Facebook update, indeed it happened. The man of God was said to have ridden on the horse. During of his services too, while trying to demonstrate the authority believers have, the man of God declared a snake to become a chocolate (chomp) and the congregation ate it. The man of God also prayed for a cloth and called the congregation to come and eat. It was made known that the congregation ate it and said it tasted like chocolate. See some of the ministries’ Facebook updates below: #demonstrationMan of God said they must bring a rock and He turned it into bread. Satan have been making people fools…. We have authority to change everything into anything and it will obey because of our authority. Just recently, the pastor turned human hair into food for the consumption of the church members. Anti - graft agency to quiz BPE chiefs over legal, consultancy fees Anti- graft detectives are probing the alleged N1. 45 billion legal and consultancy fees scandal at the Bureau of Public Enterprises ( BPE) . The Bureau of Public Procurement ( BPP ) called in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) . Of the cash , N950 million was paid to one of the lawyers of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) for the liquidation of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria ( PHCN ) when the company had ceased to exist . A N500 million consultancy fee went to the Office of the Accountant - General of the Federation. The fees were paid contrary to the advice of the immediate past Attorney- General of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke ( SAN) , and BPP . The BPP requested the EFCC to investigate the payment scandal in a June 27 letter to the anti - graft agency . A source, who spoke in confidence , said : “We have submitted a letter to the EFCC to look into the circumstances behind the payment of legal and consultancy fees . It is left to the anti - graft agency to interact with those involved. “We had in a September 22, 2014 letter, told the BPE that Due Process Certificate of ‘ No Objection’ cannot be granted to the Bureau of Public Enterprises for the appointment of the legal firm. ”We also drew the attention of the Director- General of BPE to Section 12 .30 of the revised Review Report for consideration and necessary action . “In another letter on December 24, 2014, the BPP advised the BPE against going ahead with the procurement of the legal service for the winding up of PHCN . “The Legal Advisory Services for the winding up of PHCN was no longer required, based on the advice of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice vides September 11, 2014 letter. “It was surprising to the BPP that the BPE went ahead to pay about N 1billion to a lawyer without following Due Process. ” As at press time , it was gathered that some officials of the BPE might be invited for interrogation on the curious legal fee . read more : http://thenationonlineng.net/new/efcc-probes-how-bpe-paid-n1-45b-to-pdps-lawyer-others/» |

Managing Director, Frontier Oil and Gas Limited , Thomas Dada , has said 40 per cent of generated electricity in the country is lost to theft and that a lot of people who use electricity do not pay for it . He called for the regional distribution system, saying that part of the problem of the sector is that there is huge amount of power loss due to the centralisation of the grid system as well as transmission. He said : “If we can address the centralisation of the grid system, by decentralising the transmission system to be regional rather than central , we should go back to regional distribution system and people can offload to another system if they got excess capacity in their region . Again , we need to stop electricity theft by prosecuting those who steal electricity , those who by - pass meters , and those who use it without paying for it . ” According to him, these energy thieves are not only shortchanging the distribution companies but also the entire nation. He added that it is affecting everybody that has invested in the power sector Dada accused the workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria ( PHCN ) of complicity in the sabotage , adding that they are responsible for sending out estimated bills and colluding with customers to steal electricity. He said the DISCOs had inherited a terrible system from the old PHCN which he said had consequently created the enormous problems confronting the power sector . “When the DISCOs who are at the end of gas to power value chain are not making sufficient income, they are unable to make profit which implies , ultimately, that part of the value chain that is the gas producers who produce the gas that is used by the GENCOs to generate the power that is sold to the people , don ’ t make enough money, ” he said . He said smart metering will address most of these lapses , adding that it will put in place discipline in the electricity use . http://thenationonlineng.net/new/nigeria-loses-40-of-generated-electricity-to-theft-says-expert/ |
