PoliticsRe: Igbo Marginalisation is a Big lie and just a Propaganda. by right2: 6:15pm On Dec 31, 2015

i understand your points brother, i'm not saying our leaders are not part of our problem, all im saying is the systematic marginalization should stop.

Igbos are known to be traders, they are known to be importers, why don't you give them a seaport, airport and also good federal roads, our progress is not just for us, it is for all of nigeria, imagine innoson building another assembly plant in ogun state, also build an upholstery factory in kaduna for leather, do you know the massive employment gain. We need to acknowledge the fact that there is a grudge problem, forgiveness cannot come if we continue this way. Develop on the strength of each ethnic group, that's what most western nations do.

Happy new year bro, wish you the best
Thank you very much for those intelligent points. As you can see we all need one another in this country. All the hate speech need to stop. Igbos are very smart in business. They need to leverage on this with equally smart politicking to woo FG infrastructure to the East. Onitcha alone can be a business hub if the Igbos and Eastern governors are ready to make it happen. The East need to invest massively in infrastructure, on roads ,parks and new markets. These would automatically draw investors and individuals of other tribes would like to come and work and live. Hate speech from igbos about other tribe would scare serious investors away.

I have to congratulate an average Lagosian for voting persons of other ethnic group to position. The secret of development in any city and nation of the world is politics of inclusion. Lagos will continue to be prime choice of destination for business and living for many Nigerians if they know they can always live their dreams without restriction or discrimination. This great development is already being seen by some individuals as an ethnic supremacy battle and creating unnecessary problem to law abiding Igbos in Lagos.

Igbos must open up to all tribes and people and be very friendly and stop seen other tribes as their enemies.

Uyo and Calabar are two cities that are been strategically positioned in that axis by their own people in next 10years to bring development and grow and improved living standard. What are the Igbos doing about their own cities.

Thank you my brother and God's blessings. Happy new year to you and yours.

You see the problem , you simply attacked me because i said "Assuming we weren't igbos, do you know how poor and miserable we would have been today?"

So tell me, am i wrong? there is a fundamental problem and you guys like shoving it aside, Dont worry, i wont reply you anymore
I can see that your points are void of insults and ready for intelligent discussions. With due respect to the Igbos as an observer and regular fan of Nairaland/politics....lots of posts from my Eastern brothers are lacking in intelligent reasoning and too emotional. Nigeria politics of over 40years does not support the construct ''Marginalization of the Igbos''. There are tons of evidence that the Igbos have always been in the corridor of power and this cannot be said of other tribes. In the current democracy since 1999, Igbos have continued to occupy very important position starting from OBJ who brought many Igbos to sensitive positions in his govt to GEJ when Igbos almost control everything but the commander-in-chief.
Many Nigerians believe that Igbos have had their fair share in the entity called Nigeria and if there is marginalization as they want Nigerians to believe then they are marginalized by their own sons and daughters who have continued to fill their pockets instead of advocating for infrastructural development of their region. Igbos need to look inward and begin to make their politicians accountable and stop this blame trading.

It is not logical and insult to common sense to continue to believe the tale by the moonlight told by your parents that the Yorubas that have been in opposition for the better part of Nigeria life span as a nation are the ones holding down the development in the Igbo region.

We want to exit the forced marriage. QED. Any Igbo who intend to continue associating with them, can do so at his/her peril.
Those people are snitch, barbarians, lazy and very untrustworthy. They have no purity among them. Their population is split 40% Christians & 50% Jihadists, the rest are just ritualists-"aboboku", that should give you a clue how confused they are.
They can't even cook even if their lives depends on it, hence why they are called ndi-ofe-nmanu. grin
All I can read here are all stereotype. Other tribe can say same of you also. If we continue to see other tribe or race by what somebody say about them we can never have an end to it. There are bad and good people across board. We are all human being just happen to be born in certain region by certain people. You have no control over that.

If Igbo move on by having a new country another war of stereotype will begin within the enclave. Our problem is not individual or a group of people. The Nigeria problem is lack of selfless leaders due to this same problem of tribalism. No body truly believe in Nigeria. We all think about our people. This lack of unity has been the bane of this nation. While some are lifting it because their man is in position, others are pulling it down. Imaging a man that stole 10naira is no more a thief because he comes from my tribe and begin to rationalize theft and give excuses that another man stole 20naira yesterday and nothing happen to him. No nation develops with this kind of sentiment.

We all need one another. Igbo and Yoruba need to work together before this nation can truly achieve genuine progress.

It is so sad that the two most advanced tribe in Nigeria have continued to humiliate each other on this world wide forum. I never imagined this level of bitterness and animosity btw Igbo and Yoruba. I wonder if anybody chose his tribe in his mother's womb. We make noise and preach bitterness on vanities. Instead of rubbing minds on how thing shall be better for common people, we engage in frivolities. What a shame.

I think there is wisdom in tapping into each others strong potentials. The Igbos are creative and enterprising and Yorubas are very civil and organized. We can combing these potential to create terrific economy hub in Africa. We already inter-married and making great couples and promising children. We must respect the right of these children not to plant hatred into their minds. No parent has the right to teach his/her child to hate other persons. If you have problem with other tribe because you are brainwashed by other to carry evil and hatred against other human being you got no right to transfer that evil to you innocent child.

We must speak out against this daily tribalistic comments of hate. Let us make Nairaland a home for social reconstruction. Let us discuss our economy and how we can make our lives better. Let us use this forum to advise the new govt constructively. This is our country, we can't afford to add to its problems. You need a peaceful Nigeria to dialogue even if you want to exit the amalgamation one day.
