This verse in the Bible is a principle here, a principle which the Lord Jesus later referred to when a case related to marriage was brought to Him.
You must bear in mind that Adam did not write the book of Genesis. Moses did.
The passage is not a statement by Adam, a close view of the verse will show that it was a principle being introduced at that moment by God.
Besides, how can Adam have parents if he was created by God?
