Did you get a written permission from Fulan Nasrullah? It is clearly stated on his blog that a ''written permission'' is required before one can re-use his work. |
Indeed they appear to be docile and should make their fight more visible. |
Did you know that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) went on strike long before ASUU (Academic Staff Union Of Universities)? Though they (ASUP) suspended the strike for about 2 months but they resumed it over 2 months ago, yet the media (print, electronic and social) has been quiet on this issue. ASUU has been holding the Federal Government to ransome and has consistently used the term Education Sector in their arguments, when in reality they are principally fighting for themselves (the university). ASUP is demanding that the Federal Government also honour a 2009 agreement they had with it. They are demanding: * Setting up of a Polytechnics Commision like their university and colleges of Education counterparts. * An urgent and quantitative conduct of Needs Assessment of the Polytechnics. * Stoppage of discrimination of Polytechnic graduates (Infact presently no Polytechnic Graduate can rise to become a Director in the Ministries, even a Polytechnic Graduate cannot hold Top post in the Polytechnic itself ). * Implementation of agreed improved renumeration package for Junior Staff. Amongst other things. ASUP has a list of 15 demands, but have soft pedalled to the extent that they say if the Government can meet JUST 4 of those Demands they will return to the classroom, yet nothing is being done and the media only talks about ASUU. President Goodluck Jonathan spent a whooping 13 Hours discussing with ASUU executives how many Minutes has even the Minister of Education spent with ASUP Executives? |

fatwallet: your comment indicates the dilapidated education system in nigeria.the Contiguous 48 U.S is 10 times bigger than Nigeria, the non-contiguous state of Alaska is about 3 to 4 bigger than Nigeria. simple geography.Oga what are you saying? Omodapson is right. The US with a total landmass of 9,826,675 sq km is just over 10 times bigger than Nigeria with a landmass of 923,768 sq km. Alaska is the ONLY state in America that is larger than Nigeria, and with a landmass of 1,717,854 sq km it is no way 3 or 4 times larger than Nigeria but about 1.9 times larger. Texas the 2nd largest state in America is not as large as Nigeria while California the 3rd largest with a landmass of 423,970 sq km is less than half Nigeria's landmass not almost same size as you stated. |

logica: I have noticed sarcasm is not the forte of you and your people. In any case, the fact that you have no idea that Ogun and Lagos are oil producing is enough to end this back-and-forth.I have seen you repeat this statement severally and I am disappointed. Lagos and Ogun are Not Oil PRODUCING States. Before you try to respond, ask yourself this question ''have they been receiving 13% Oil derivation?'' |
Vivly: .I wonder why they are liking that your post. Those are tautologies for christ's sake. Some are rightly used and others are blatantly abused. Why are you contradicting yourself Uyi, are you trying to debunk the facts, cuz in some instances, your post claims otherwise. Don't just argue for the sake of argument please.Haven't you heard of sarcasm? |
