The game serves a warm-up for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with both teams securing qualification on Saturday evening.

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has said that he will field players that did not feature against South Africa, when they play Uganda in an international friendly on Tuesday in Asaba, Delta state.

Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze, was one of the players expected to make his debut for Nigeria against the Bafana Bafana last Saturday.

Chukwueze was listed among the substitutes for the game, but the 19-year-old was an unused substitute, even though he was sent out to warm up at a point.

Rohr instead brought on Henry Onyekuru, ‎Isaac Success and Semi Ajayi, as the Eagles held on for a 1-1 draw in Johannesburg.

“When you play the 3-5-2 formation you have your front two (Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho) running all game and they get tired most times, so we have to take them off and introduce players who can offer us same upfront.

“Iwobi was ‎also tired and Ajayi came in to protect the result for us. In our next game we will try some players who didn’t get to play and also those who didn’t make the bench,” the German explained.

A 35-year-old teacher identified as Lori Tuoyo, has revealed that he doesn’t know what pushed him into trying to defile his 6-year-old female student after school hours, on Friday, in Jakpa/Ekpan, Delta State.

According to activist Israel Joe, the suspect had taken the girl to an empty classroom, undressed her, closed her mouth, removed his trouser and was already making efforts to penetrate her, when he heard some movements.

He then quickly dressed up and told the student, who had already been injured around her vagina, not tell anyone what had happened. However, the victim told her sister, who then reported to their mom and the school authority was informed.

When interrogated, Tuoyo admitted to the crime, but said he didn't know what came over him. The DPO of Ekpan police division was subsequently notified and the teacher was arrested. .

However, his mother quickly rushed to the police station to beg for mercy, while revealing that Tuoyo had been battling with rape issues for long and had been taken to multiple prayer houses for deliverance to no avail.

She was, however, assured that her son will be thoroughly delivered when he gets to at the Okere High Prison.

A bricklayer identified as Ndifreke Effiong Ukpong aka Yaradua, was, yesterday, shot dead by a trigger-happy policeman in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

It was gathered that the duo were arguing over an undisclosed issue, at a restaurant located along Nwaniba road, UniUyo junction, when the policeman pulled the trigger.

The officer fled immediately after killing Ukpong and his colleagues later came to evacuate the corpse of the deceased.
