We drove slowly for about 4 or 5 poles before we approached the the first road/entrance by ur left. The vehicle stopped and we came down. It went down and turned around and came back before parking by the side. The herbalist took my hand and asked me to follow his steps. We entered through a small hut located by the entrance. There was a younger herbalist serving under the main Baba there. He came to bring us in and to clear the road for us. He told us to follow his steps as we moved on. There were placed he got to and said some words of incantation. There were places he got to and he used his clothe to push something away on the road. There were places he got to and he will go and bow to the Idol there or say one or two things before we proceed. There were sometimes along that path that he would stop us and begin to talk to the wind as if he is quarrelling with something...there were more than 10 idols of different types we passed from the gate and each had a symbol or meaning and ways to approach it. We even bowed to greet some of them...

FEAR GOD

MEMORISE: The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

MESSAGE

Every truly wise person knows that the Maker of heaven and earth should be feared. This is why Proverbs 9:10 says:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

There is no greater foolishness than disregard for God. How can you fear people who are limited in power and authority, then have no fear for the One who can do as He pleases, who is answerable to no one (Daniel 4:35)

If you can fear those who can kill your body, how much more the One who can destroy both your body and soul in hell (Matthew 10:28)? God should never be toyed with. I know there are people who tell you that you are not to fear God, but to just reverence Him. I don't know if they read that from their Bible, but my own Bible does not say the reverence of God is the beginning of wisdom, but rather, the fear of the Lord.

I don’t play carelessly with fire. No matter how cold I get, I don’t put my hand in it because I fear it. Our God is the Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29). You should therefore not only reverence Him, but fear Him also. Even a mad dog recognises fire when it sees it and does not play carelessly with it.

If you don’t fear God, you are capable of doing any evil. The interesting thing is that, whether you fear fire or not, if you touch it, it will burn you. If, as a result of the fact that you have no fear of God you continue to commit sin, it is only a matter of time before the repercussions would start coming.

A person may enjoy the pleasures of sin here on earth, and may even be popular for being such a great sinner, but a time is coming when the person will leave this world and then face the judgement of God which will lead to eternal damnation for such a person.

Beloved, it is better to fear God , live holy and receive eternal life than to disregard Him here on earth and spend eternity burning in the lake of fire. Choose wisely.

KEY POINT

Fear God so much that you will stay away from anything that can offend Him.

The Land of the SPIRITS

Later he set out again to the river side. Am using this as the name now because that's how best I could describe that place, as at that time, until I saw it myself. It was according to what the herbalist told me. He got back later and informed me they are expecting us anytime from 9pm. He told me even the Oba of that place is aware am around and they send their greetings. He also told the herbalist to make sure to ask for their help concerning anything I need EXCEPT the cash to COMPLETE the money I was asked to raise! U might not believe this but it is true...

At about 9:30pm, his phone rang and it was the Baba that was in charge of that place. He said we should start coming. They already sent a vehicle to pick us up at the hotel. And we got up and dressed up. We came down stairs and saw the driver of the bus and entered. He drove through alot of turnings, streets and all what not until we got to that place where we ate in the morning. He drove straight to the entrance and as we entered that lonely road, the whole place was dead dark. As in very dark with huge tall trees all around on both sides with alot of statues of idols all over the fence on both sides...

There are some people who should clearly be avoided, while others may look good on the outside but deep inside, are not who they pretend to be.

There are some character flaws you should look out for and ensure you do not keep people who have such as friends.

For example, if your friend’s temper runs hot, stay away from him or her, so you don’t learn his or her ways and ensnare your soul. Proverbs 22:24-25.

Many years ago, I was working as a teacher and befriended a colleague who was from the same part of the country as I.

I however, didn’t know much about him. One day on our way to Ibadan for a teachers’ programme, we got off the lorry in Ile-Ife, where we would board another to Ibadan.

This friend of mine then said he wanted to say hello to a chief nearby and asked me to come along. I did, after all, we were friends. We got there, he knocked on a door and was asked a strange question from inside, “is it a fish or a crab?” My friend answered and said, “One fish and one crab”. We were let in, but as we left,

I began to wonder what these strange statements meant. When we arrived in Ibadan, he said he wanted to visit another fellow. I followed him, he knocked at the door and was asked, “Who is that? a goat or a sheep?” My friend answered, “One goat, one sheep”.

By now, I was seriously troubled. I got home and asked the elders what the statements meant. They said, knowingly, “Ah, where did you hear that?”

That was the end of my friendship with that fellow.

Up to today, I don’t understand what those statements really meant, but I didn’t have to be told that they were occultic and dangerous.

Check your friends, be watchful and careful. The Bible says evil communication corrupts good manners. 1 Corinthians 15:33.

The Romans used to say, “As bad apples spoil good ones, so do bad friends spoil good boys”.

Before today is out, do a thorough check on all your friends.

If there are some that are not living a holy life, preach the word of God to them and if they refuse to change, please separate yourself from such persons immediately.

Your friends are an indication of the influences that determine who you will become. Make and retain only godly friends.

Later in the afternoon he returned and told me we would be going there in the night but will go and feed the monkeys which will come out once we enter the entrance of the Isale Odo(gate). I was curious about the monkeys. So we lay down on the bed and slept off. While we were resting, so many things ran through my mind. Supposing I don't succeed? Or what if I succeed and go home in one piece? Believe me, I was restless.

The room was small with a small bed and the facilities there was nothing to write home about but we had to take it because it was one of the closest to where we were going to...

In the evening, we went and bought enough bananas near the Isale Odo junction where they sell food. We walked down to the entrance and to my amazement, monkeys raced out of various trees around and walked towards us. We were told that if our sacrifice was not accepted, they won't come to us. They will simply ignore us but if urs is accepted, they will accept the bananas from that person. But this time, they walked towards me and was practically dragging those bananas from my hands. When we were done, we went back to the hotel.

At that junction before the entrance was a shop which was a safe distance from the gate, where they sell food. So we stopped there and bought some local food. We bought rice, pomo, different types of assorted meat and a drink for me while he did the same for himself.

When we finished eating, he took me back to the hotel while he went back to the water side to deliver the massage he was sent...

When he returned to the hotel, he asked for the clay container and I gave it to him. He said when he got there, the priest was just starring at him. He said the massage he came to deliver wasn't his, that I was supposed to be the one to come myself but since he is here already, he should proceed. He was asked to bring the clay container and also to take me out to eat that am worried and hungry now at the hotel...

So we went out to look for food. He went toward the place and stopped at a safe distance from the entrance of that place. They called that place "ISALE ODO". Now this is the popular place in OSHOGBO where the popular OSHOGBO FESTIVAL was held annually. Am sure so many of u have heard about this popular festival where people from far and near come to celebrate the gods of the water. If u search on the internet, u will notice that alot of RICH PEOPLE and personalities from across NIGERIA and beyond come there during this festival. U hear alot of stories about MAMMY WATER and people turning to mammy water. U will see alot of people wearing WHITE wrappers & clothes during this celebration, with some white designs on their faces. This was no ordinary festival/celebration, but a worship of a PRINCIPAL known as LEVIATHAN popularly known as MAMMY WATER.

The following morning, we took a bus going to Oshogbo from Ore and stoped at old park. We took a bike to a nearby hotel not far from the road. There is a mini field near the road and the hotel were some people held a crusade later in the evening.

As we got a room, we freshened up and the herbalist went straight to see the priest in charge of the place we were sent to. Meanwhile there was a small clay container which looks like a small palm wine container that Kabiyesi gave to me. I was asked to put it in my pocket. Surprisingly, it didn't break all these while. I was at the hotel waiting for him to return and didn't see him until later in the day.

At this point, I managed to convince my wife and travelled to OSUN STATE. Kabiyesi insisted the herbalist go with me since I don't know anywhere there. I didn't have money for the travel expenses and Kabiyesi brought out some bundles of cash and gave it to us for transport. It asked us to leave immediately...

That same afternoon, we left but couldn't get a vehicle at Choba near Uniport. We checked for other places and was told this could be possible only in the morning. So we went to Waterlines and entered Young Shall Grow bus (Night bus) and dropped at Ore the next morning.

After much pleading and meetings between the 3 parties mentioned above, an agreement was made. Kabiyesi and the Marine Spirits had their way. The witches agreed that I should proceed to the next stage. Kabiyesi told me to prepare that I have a journey to make to OSUN STATE. I was surprised because I wasn't expecting anything like traveling out of Port Harcourt. I never saw it coming...

Kabiyesi said this journey was very important and very necessary because of my safety and to ensure the process is completed peacefully. It mentioned that the witches in that particular area of Port Harcourt were not happy. They said it's a taboo for them to do this type of favour for a person who is not even one of their own (a witch or an indigene). That's the reason why it has been moving all the money I brought to safety because it knows witches very well and how they behave.

INTRODUCTION
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, a child is "a young person especially between infancy and youth". Child abuse is any maltreatments of a child which causes him/her harm. Such action can also take the form of a child neglect or failure to protect a child from danger especially by a parent or other caregivers. The Bible tells us that whosoever harms a child is asking for God's anger (Mark 9:42)

FORMS OF CHILD ABUSE

Children are precious to God and must be well taken care of (Psalm 127:3). Basically, child abuse can be physical, sexual or emotional.

*Physical abuse:* can be the excessive beating of a child (especially one that leaves him/her with Marks), throwing objects, poisoning, child labour (trafficking, Hawking), neglecting to give the child basic necessities of life such as food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare, etc. It also includes the use of drug, alcohol or any substance that will cause the child distress (1Kings 3:19; 25-26; Mark 9:42).

*Sexual abuse:* This is when any person engages a child in any sexual activities such as handling a child's sexual organs, engaging the child in any immoral activity eg pornography, rape, defilement of the child, etc. (2Samuel 13:10-15)

*Emotional or psychological abuse:* includes teasing, bullying, threatening, verbal abuse (such as causing belittling, constantly finding fault), etc (1Samuel 17:26-28; Colossians 3:21).

SIGNS AND PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE

These are some of the signs that a child is being abused: aggressive behaviour, low self-esteem, sleeping difficulties, unexplained bruises, burns or swellings, lack of concentration and criminal inclinations. Child abuse may eventually leads to deformation or death.

Prevention of child abuse may take the following forms:
1. Early education, identification and intervention.

2. Break The silence report any abuse.

3. Train a child in a godly ways (Proverbs 22:6)

4. It is not every wrong that should be a melt with capital punishment

CONCLUSION
Child abuse is a menace that must be dealt with holistically and in the fear of God.

SEXUAL IMMORALITY IS FORBIDDEN II

MEMORISE:
“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” HEBREWS 13:4 (KJV)

READ: PROVERBS 7:22-27 (KJV)
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

MESSAGE:
These days, genuine Christians and even ministers of the Gospel are being caught in various types of sin, including sexual immorality which Joseph refused to indulge in, despite the fact that the opportunity presented itself on what seemed to be a platter of gold.

Genesis 39:8-9 records Joseph’s response to the offer:

"But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; there is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

It was wisdom, brought about by the fear of God, that kept Joseph away from committing sexual immorality with his master’s wife.

No wonder the Bible says "the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom" Proverbs 9:10.

How I wish all children of God would embrace the fear of God so that they can begin to live above temptation and sin.

It is wisdom to run away from sin because the Bible says in Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death…” and this refers to eternal death.

Beloved, sexual immorality is forbidden; seek godly wisdom to avoid this deadly sin.

In the last hour before the arrest of Jesus Christ, He had a foreknowledge of what was about to happen to Him and thus had a private meeting with His disciples at Gethsemane, where He gave them the antidote to temptation and sin.

Matthew 26:41 says, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak…”

In this passage, Jesus named watchfulness and prayer as the antidote to temptation and sin.

We are therefore called to be alert to dangers in the Christian journey such as sexual immorality, false teachings, worldliness, love of money, inordinate ambition, sinful pleasure, and other forms of temptation and sin.

The Bible says the end is near so we should be sober and watch unto prayer 1 Peter 4:7).

Sexual Immorality is forbidden; watch and pray over the type of content you and your family consume.

Be mindful of your physical and social interactions, and constantly fill your heart with the word of God so you do not sin against Him Psalm 119:11.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please don’t let me become a victim or captive to sexual immorality, in Jesus’ name.

As time went on, issues persisted. All the money I raised was disappearing with problems from every corner. I even sold my property in the villa and still after sorting out problems from other imaginable places, I could only come with N5m total.

Each time I brought N2m or any amount, I will be required to bring the cash in front of Kabiyesi. Each time, it will be told am around and the cash will be put beside it. Once it is kept, the next minute, the cash disappears. Kabiyesi said he is keeping those cash because there is a dispute going on between WITCHES & MARINE SPIRITS (People of the world). There were cases it had to mediate on my behalf because they were adamant on allowing me to succeed. This brought about 2 factions in the SPIRIT WORLD, the WITCHES and MARINE SPRITS. The former was not in support of helping or allowing me to be helped while the latter and Kabiyesi was of the opinion that I have suffered enough hence I should be helped. But they insisted I needed to sweat more hence I needed to get the complete sum.

SEXUAL IMMORALITY IS FORBIDDEN I

MEMORISE:
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:18

READ: PROVERBS 5:15-23
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

MESSAGE:
The phrase ‘sexual immorality’ covers all improper sexual conducts and practices like fornication, adultery, masturbation, prostitution, pornography, incest, homosexuality, rape, child sexual abuse, bestiality and so on.

There is a special relationship between these sins and the human eye as revealed in 2 Peter 2:14.

The eye or face is sometimes used interchangeably in the Bible and both are very important for effective communication.

This is why the Bible speaks of having eyes full of adultery.

Adultery and fornication are sexual practices that are considered immoral and abominable according to the word of God.

Having eyes full of sexual immorality means communicating sexual attraction or immoral interest with the eyes or face.

In extreme cases, it could also mean that a person’s mind is always filled with sensual or erotic desire especially towards persons other than their spouses.

The fact however, remains that the allure of a promiscuous person is centred in the eyes or face, as revealed by Proverbs 6:25 that says,
“…neither let her take thee with her eyelids,” and Isaiah 3:16 that talks about walking around with stretched necks and promiscuous eyes.

For this reason, painting the face and eyelids was regarded as a means of amplifying beauty and sexual attraction; thus promiscuous people have used it as a means of seduction since Bible days, like Jezebel in
2Kings 9:30.

Meanwhile, our Lord Jesus Christ equates looking at a member of the opposite sex lustfully with adultery Matthew 5:28.

This means that those who deliberately makeup and dress to amplify their sexual attraction are in actual fact causing others to commit adultery on a daily basis.

Since Christians must be careful not to cause others to stumble, according to Romans 14:13 and 1 Corinthians 8:9, we all must ensure that we are modest in our dressing, 1Timothy 2:9-10 and conduct so we do not become a stumbling block in the path of others.

This is the established will of God.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please don’t let me ever be entangled in the web of sexual immorality, in Jesus name.

TRUE LOVE

MEMORISE:
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1 JOHN 4:20

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

MESSAGE:
Love is foundational to the Christian faith.

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment is, His answer was: "Love God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and love your neighbour as yourself."

He then went further to say, “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” Matthew 22:36-40.

True love is in the DNA of every genuine child of God. Anyone who claims to be a Christian and does not have love as one of his or her characteristics is nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2.

If there is true love, then it implies that there is false love. True love is empathetic in nature. True love does not do good for people to see, it does good because it feels the pain of the one who is loved.

In our Bible reading for today, James says if you truly love someone, you would do everything within your power to solve their problems.

Unfortunately, these days, when many Christians see another who they can help, they would rather pray to God to help the fellow than help him or her themselves. That is fake love.

True love is when you make sacrifices to help your brother or sister and do all you can to ensure their problems are solved.

Some years ago, after a major programme, I was so tired that I just wanted to get on my bed and sleep, but as I was leaving the venue in my car, I heard the voice of a man shouting, “Daddy help me, Daddy help me”. I wanted to stop my driver immediately, but I knew that if we stopped there, the crowd would rush to the car. I therefore asked my driver to allow me come out of the car at a place where I could wait, then go back to get the man.

When the man arrived, he told me he had no job and his wife, who had been fending for the family before, had also just lost her job. They had a set of twins and all four of them had not eaten for three days.

The first thing I did was to ask someone to bring food for them before we could continue the conversation. By the end of that day, both husband and wife had jobs.

Love is demonstrated through our actions. Brethren, do you truly love others as you love yourself? Without true love for your neighbour, you cannot make it to heaven. Matthew 25:35-46.

REFLECTION:
Do you truly show love to the people around you?

More misery

I sold a house I was building at Petrochemical Estate in Port Harcourt and the only car remaining in my house out of desperation for a paltry sum. I borrowed N3m from someone from my side. His elder brother who is my staff and childhood/ very close friend, helped me to convince him. I also borrowed another N2.5m through one of my students who runs a money lending outlet. I gave him a new tokumbor car as collateral and had one of my close friend sign as a guarantor for me. That car was sent by my younger sister as a gift to my dad. He allowed me to borrow it with the original documents. On top of all these, I started loosing alot of trades/money automatically in my live trades. I even lost an account I was managing and the guy wasn't happy. I told him not to worry that I will pay the amount of $5000 which was lost in his trades. Meeennnn....my world was turned upsidedown!!

In all these, my wife was worried and I always looked for a way to calm her down and maintain a balance in all the things happening around me...

The annoying thing was Kabiyesi and the herbalist knew everything I was passing through. They see it from there. Kabiyesi either tells him or shows him all the sufferings I was passing through. For them, this was a necessary end to achieving my purpose.

Alms giving

On one of those occassions, while passing through alot of rejections and hardship. Kabiyesi asked me to come and see it. After a long conversation with it, Kabiyesi asked me to give arms to any first beggar I saw on the road. That once I give that alms, my way will be opened and the hardship will be reduced. On my way home, I decided not give to all those little little almajiries on the road. Somehow, non came to me for alms. So I continued searching for one until I saw an old woman who was just standing on my path. When I got there, as if she was waiting for me. When she said that, I knew she was not human. She was one of them!! When I returned to that spot again another day, she was not longer found around there. My Barrister and friend also did what most men would have done. He is rich and from a very rich family too. I was close to him so I knew him well while he also knew me and was my legal representative.

When I approached him for N10m, he declined and I brought it down to N5m. He also formed stories and eventually declined. Later I asked him for N2m to make up the N9m I was looking for and he said okay. He later came back and said I have to sign a document/agreement before he can release the cash and I agreed because I didn't have anything negative in my mind. When I got to him and asked for the document, he later declined and said he does not have but will speak to his brother who has. After along time, he said the brother said no because he does not know me. Since then, he felt somehow uneasy whenever we met afterwards. I withdrew gradually from his services and told my wife to also do the same.

Chidi is my direct younger sister. She is rich. As in the richest so far among us. She refused to help me with funds (N10m) when I wanted to travel. This money was just for a month. Okay give me ur statement of account and serve as my sponsor and she refused to release her statement of account. Same with her husband. The husband said he will freeze the money in my account if he "borrows" the cash from his elder brother to help me. And asked the both of them some simple questions. Has anyone of u ever heard that I collected/borrowed cash from anyone before? Or stole anything from anyone before? Or even had a fight with anyone before? They knew the answer because it is a Capita NO. I walked away from them and faced my hussle. During this same period she didn't help because she is very materialistic. So I only turned to God Almighty and cried to Him about what she did. As in my own sister who is a position told me she is building her house in Nigeria and it's more important...kai!! I wept sore at home when praying and this made her have a VERY BIG problem (check 'Share Ur TESTIMONIES' in one of my threads for this story).

Note: At this stage, I wasn't born again. I was still doing everything called SIN but knew the Almighty God exist.
