If there was any regulatory constraints regarding his nationality, how the hell did he end up getting the job in the first instance? Either the hiring manager goofed big time or the story was made up. It is also possible that the firm got a more qualified candidate and decided to come up with that silly excuse. Either way, that is a good way to tell the world that you are job hunting. Employers will start sending him job invites.

Passport should be more expensive, it’s one way for govt to make money. Passport is not needed within the country, it’s for traveling outside and traveling anywhere is not cheap.
