Then someone shows up and gives that anger a target and a promise:
“Your suffering isn’t your fault. It’s Nigeria’s fault. Once Biafra comes, everything will change.”

It’s the same psychology that drives the most hopeless and poorest people into blind religion.

When life offers no relief, they invest their faith in an unseen miracle , “my reward is in heaven.”
For these haven’t-done-wells, their “heaven” became Biafra.

IPOB became their new religion , the gospel of a coming nation that would erase their failures and restore dignity.

And the ones abroad? They were sold a different flavor of delusion.

IPOB told them they were nation builders, “funders of the revolution,” future ministers in a country that doesn’t exist.

They even shared fake appointments , titles waiting for a government that will never come.

They were sold a sense of importance, told they were part of history, that their donations were building a future.

But the truth is, no Biafra is coming.

Every “Biafra will come” countdown passed. Every blood moon to signal Biafra "prophecy" failed.

Even if Kanu wasn’t arrested, Biafra still wouldn’t come.

There isn’t a single country in the world that believes it will or even knows you exist.

They said, “We are registered in 25 countries.” You never asked , registered as what?

Because the real registration was for fundraising, not sovereignty.

No serious movement registers itself as a limited liability company.

“Our plight” was code for “they’re kil*ling Christians in Nigeria” , emotional leverage to keep Western based donors sympathetic, not to trigger secessi0n.

And when time started running out, Kanu changed the story:
“They are Islamizing you. Donate for weap0ns or you’ll be wiped out.”

You will not get self-determination through armed struggle.

It is not self-defense when you turn the gu*ns on your own land and your own people.

When that fear campaign still didn’t bring enough cash, he formed ESN under the guise of protection against herdsmen.

Till date, they haven’t caught one herdsman.

They turned to in-sourcing the terror , recruiting never-do-wells, ex-convicts, and frustrated men with nothing to lose.

They orchestrated pris0n breaks, burnt police stations, released hardened criminals into our communities, ar*med them, and dumped them in our bushes.

What serious man with a good job will leave his home to live in a bush?

What keeps most of those men there now is the taste of the spoils , the money they make from ki*dnapping, rans0m, organ harvesting, and pillaging our land.

Then there’s the oath. They make them swear oaths!

Most of those young men are trapped in that life because ha agbago ndu na “Biafra or Death.”
And Biafra has not come.
Leaving would brand them “sabo" and they will not inherit Biafra.

That’s where the insecurity in the South East came from , not from any Caliphate, but from your own sons.

No sovereign nation will ever negotiate secession with a limited liability company.

That is what IPOB is. That is not a matter of opinion; it is a fact.

IPOB is not recognized anywhere by any world power as a nation or a people.

It is an organization registered as an Ltd in the UK, and proscribed in Nigeria as an unlawful society , because it is illegal to seek to balkanize the country.

Secession is not your right.

Self-determination under the UN charter is very specific , and armed struggle nullifies that quest.

Once you set up an armed movement within a sovereign nation, it will not be considered “self-defense.”

The dream was a business model all along.

The money you send doesn’t build a nation; it builds Kanu’s comfort, his family’s luxury, his influence. They are made for life! That is the family business.

The so-called Biafran “struggle” in those bushes isn’t funded by your just your donations.

It’s also funded by cri*me, money made from ki*dna*pping, ki*lling, and r0bbing Igbo people for their money, cars, and organs.

It’s funded by ext0rtion of politicians who thought they were buying protection and a voting bloc by privately 'aligning' with Kanu.

That’s why many Igbo politicians dance around this issue , because many of them gave him money for the “signed, sealed, and delivered” deal in 2019.

Meanwhile, the followers keep waiting , broke in pocket or broke in spirit , clinging to a promise that was never meant to be kept.

And when reality refuses to match the dream, the anger curdles , not just at Nigeria, but at life itself.

That’s the tragedy of false hope: it doesn’t free the oppressed; it just traps them in a deeper illusion.

"Biafrans" keep claiming they have requested to leave Nigeria , and if you have only partial contact in your brain, you might actually believe them.

But let’s be factual here, as of today, there has never been any formal, documented request for secession from the Southeast. None. No petition, no referendum, no legitimate paper trail , nothing.

Why?

Because secession is not protected under the Nigerian constitution. You cannot threaten to balkanize a sovereign nation and it will treat it lightly.

It is not done anywhere in the world.

The Southeast has elected representation in Abuja through the legislative arm of government, and only the National Assembly , not an individual or a mob , holds the authority to make or process any formal motion on behalf of the people.

At the state level, every SE state is being led by an Igbo governor who hails from that state!

People keep confusing self-determination with secession, and they are not synonymous.

Self-determination is the right of a people to pursue autonomy, cultural preservation, and fair representation within a recognized state system.
An example will be your village seeking to become an autonomous community and going though the process with the government.

Secession, on the other hand, is a unilateral declaration to break away from that state, and in Nigeria, that is unconstitutional and illegal. Even the threat of it.

IPOB has never followed any recognized path to self-determination. That is not conjecture, it is a fact.

They cannot produce any proof of submitting documentation to the UN or any legitimate international body.

No country in the world would negotiate with a movement registered as a limited liability company.

All they have are photo ops, Nnamdi Kanu and his diaspora followers posing with random white men in suits outside UN buildings, trying to pass off selfies as diplomacy.

The UN Charter on Self-Determination is very clear: it requires structured negotiation, documented intent, non-violence, and recognized representation.

Kanu obliterated any of those chances the moment he formed Eastern Security Network (ESN) and declared an armed struggle.

So where did this myth come from , this fantasy that “we already asked to leave Nigeria”? And Nigeria refused.

"Give us referendum " they chant, it is not countries that give referendums to ask whether you want to leave.

It came straight from Kanu’s propaganda , a convenient lie fed to his followers who never demand evidence or seek for it. Google is free, you have 24 hours in a day but you can't spare it researching for the information.

He knows one truth about the average emotionally charged, Biafra-identifying Igbo person: the easiest place to hide facts is behind sentiments.

Just invoke “Ndi Igbo” and “freedom” and logic dies instantly.

If Ndi Igbo truly “asked to leave Nigeria,” how come nearly every prominent Igbo elite, the same ones who actually have the wealth, structure, and influence , still have their businesses, homes, and investments across Nigeria?

You want to secede without the political class, without the economic base, without even consensus , just online anger, broadcasts and hashtags?

To what end? what’s the endgame?

Shout “Biafra or Death!” while setting the Southeast on fire and making it unlivable for ndi Igbo?

He told me that they are fine and that it is those living at the remote side of Abuja that are affected by constant attack by armed robbers.

Just few days ago, a doctor was abducted from his home alongside his three male children while the wife is left with the last child and after some hours, the body of the doctor was dumped on the street while his three children are nowhere to be found yet. Abuja is not safe anymore.
