We are all wired differently….what motivates you might cripple another, and vice versa.
I agree she needs to change her outlook on life and money though…which might not be possible until she makes enough money, hence realizing that money is just money at the end of the day and not the ultimate problem solver she feels it is.

And she should know first hand that situations may change....just like her mum suddenly had financial issues when they lost her dad...having a rich mam as husband is no financial guarantee.....anything can go wrong ....so it should be a pointer to strive to be self sufficient albeit in a decent manner ....

My dad had a massive full-paralysis few years ago
