I have been "managing" Smartwebhost nigeria for a while though its clear their shared linux hosting is very slow. Its something I could deal with since my website hosted with them is not a high traffic site.

I was sent a message that the server I was hosted on was having issues some months back.

After a couple of weeks again, I noticed my website was down for like 2-3 days before I got a mail from support that the same server was having issues.

After about 4 days of Smartweb "trying" to resolve the issue, I was sent another mail that they "lost" the drive, meaning all websites that were hosted on it ,including mine was all gone. I quickly checked the other sites that were hosted o the same I.P. with me to verify if I was the only one affected and they were down as well. No backups from them. Nothing!

I made up my mind that this would be the last time i would host or purchase domain with them.

Nigerian hosts can be terrible.
