You should use Usijali hosting next time, I'll recommend. If not for anything else but for their courtesy. They do let you know when there's any issue from their side.
And your mind will be at rest. No need for unnecessary pressure or headache.
kingsworldola: I hope they can be contacted anytime. I don't understand how I will not be able to access my cpanel for weeks and my hosting company is not responding to messages, not even picking calls
Those guys are reachable. Their Whatsapp support group makes it easy to reach them.
haggai247: If them tell you like dat na big lie. They get a few CPU space and cram as many site as possible to it to get maximum return All Nigeria host are all reseller hosting with zero backup except the management want to invest in a backup. This is why hacking Nigerian site is as simple as ABC.
They don't need to tell me. I can run checks using dnschecker sites. And btw, how do you mean a Nigerian site is prone to hacking? Any site is prone to hacking. Whether it's simple as ABC depends on the security practices of the site in question.
It's not a Nigerian thing.
That reminds me, around August 2023, namecheap had some downtime. from websites being hacked, servers going offline and the absence of backups of the servers and websites. My website was one of them. It made the news. Went viral. It was hot topic on Facebook. We swallowed it because it was a foreign host and moved on. Or is namecheap a Nigerian host?
And for reseller hosting, i read somewhere that interserver was a reseller, is that true? So the problem here is, remaining a reseller, isn't it?
If you can buy a dedicated server for your personal site as you claimed, I don't see why it's impossible for a "reseller" to also do that.
And oh, since they're all resellers, that means their servers are not in Nigeria then. Because i can get a VPS from Hostinger to start my hosting company tomorrow. Or simply buy a reseller hosting plan from bluehost. So does that mean the servers are in Nigeria?
At the end, it comes down to management practices. Downtimes and website hacks can happen anywhere, really.
haggai247: Move your sites to eastern Europe server any server in Africa has tendencies of downtime
Try che chu Koala host + My secret host I don't share to anyone where I pay $15 for a year to host 3 sites.
When the site starts earning I moved them up to dedicated server where I believe downtime cannot happen.
When the quality for raptive or mediavine I move them to Big Scott except war happen before big Scott go fit get problems.
I don't think any host have their servers in Africa. Not even HostAfrica that bought whogohost. If you ask, they let you know. Most of these host servers are based in the US or europe.
It's easy to know that. Just use dnschecker website to run a check on the namesevers
So it's an issue of management on the part of the Nigerian owners.
Thank God for reviews like this. This was how I also found a positive one on Usijali Hosting right here on this forum. And i haven't regretted it. You should have tried them
clam12345: I signed up for hosting services with SpeedHost247 and they offered to transfer my files from my previous hosting provider. However, after they claimed to have completed the transfer, I discovered that my website files, totaling around 120GB, were missing. When I raised this issue with them, they insisted that they had moved the folder to their server. When I asked for the location of the zipped file, they falsely claimed that I had deleted it by creating another folder. I found this explanation to be illogical, as creating a folder with no content should not result in the deletion of a zipped file. Even if a new filename is created, the system prompts about the existence of another file with the same name. Despite this, they insisted that I had deleted the zipped file, even when the system had prompted me and I had not even created a file but only a folder in a completely different location.
Furthermore, it seems that they were unaware that the file size was 120GB, while the hosting space I had purchased from them was only 100GB. It is impossible for them to have moved a 120GB file into a 100GB hosting space and then unzipped it. They provided false information without even knowing this fact.
Additionally, despite their server indicating that I had 5 addon spaces, when I added four websites, they claimed that my addon space was exhausted and that I needed to upgrade my plan. I pointed out that I had only used 4 out of the 5 addon spaces, but they still pushed me to upgrade.
Based on my experience, I cannot trust SpeedHost247. It seems that they are not truthful and that customer service is not their priority. It appears that they prioritize money over customer satisfaction and they seem to have inexperienced staff who frequently lie.
I recommend others to stay away from SpeedHost247. They falsely claim to be located in the UK but are actually a Nigerian reseller platform. RUN AWAY FROM THEM. RUN!! RUN!! RUN!!
