What is most condemnable is the discriminatory tendency of the political party, specifically exempting its Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, from taking the oath. For whatever reason put up as justification, it will never be adequate considering how the implication of such action may play out on their chances at the polls. As prospective leaders in the country, they should have shown examplary role, which would have amounted to scoring strong political point, while the exercise is generally regarded as a strong statement towards significant change in the country's political system.
