PoliticsCoup In Burkinafaso. Military Takes Over by seeun(op): 6:44pm On Sep 18, 2015
A protester holds a loaded slingshot in Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou, on Thursday.
Story highlights
"This incident is a flagrant violation of Burkina Faso's constitution," U.N. chief says
Days before the raid, a commission had recommended the disbanding of the presidential guard

(CNN)Elements of Burkina Faso's military declared they were in control of the nation after presidential guards stormed a Cabinet meeting and seized the President and the Prime Minister -- days before the general elections.
Guards detained interim President Michel Kafando and other government ministers during the raid in the capital Wednesday, the United Nations said.
It's unclear where the guards took the President, Prime Minister Isaac Zida and the other officials.
Hours after their detention, an unidentified military official took to the airwaves Thursday and said the group, now calling itself the National Council for Democracy, "decided to put an end to the deviant transitional regime."
The official announced that the country's new leader would be a former general, Gilbert Diendere. He was an adviser to former President Blaise Compaore, who stepped down under pressure by protesters in 2014 after ruling for 27 years.

The interim government failed to establish a "democracy based on consensus," the military official said on national television.
The official highlighted a series of steps the military is undertaking that include removing the transitional president from office, dissolving the government and forming a broad coalition that will focus on policies that will lead to inclusive elections.
Demonstrators gathered outside the presidential palace in the capital, Ouagadougou, on Thursday in apparent opposition to the takeover.
Soldiers fired guns into the air in an apparent effort to contain the crowd, said Mathatha Tsedu, director of the journalists' trade group South African National Editors Forum, who was in the city for a conference.
U.N., France
The United Nations condemned the leaders' detention.
"This incident is a flagrant violation of Burkina Faso's constitution and transitional charter," U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon said in a statement. "The United Nations stands firmly behind the transitional authorities and President Kafando."
French President Francois Hollande appealed for the release of the leaders and the reinstatement of the transitional authorities.
Days before the raid in Ouagadougou, a commission had recommended the disbanding of the presidential guard unit, which is loyal to Compaore, the former president.
Protesters toppled Compaore last year after he expressed a desire to extend his 27-year rule. He stepped down after days of mass protests and the military briefly took over before Kafando was appointed.
Burkina Faso is scheduled to hold general elections on October 11.

Standing By Oluchi.

I just got a BC calling to Protest and demonstration over the sad death of Oluchi in Unilag.

So quickly, following the principle that explanation/clarification should never be delayed when due...

Yes it is really sad but we have to be frank for I love you for Allaah's sake.

Hence we should be informed you, Muslim who has taken part in that protest has committed a great sin from many angles:

First, to what end is the protest?

If u say it's to call the attention of the authority, we say: there are other means which are permissible. Protest is not permissible in islam it gives birth to more evil.

And so that we can relate, I will narrate:

3 years ago, unilag was changed to maulag, there were serious protests. In one of the protests, on third mainland bridge, a woman was in labour and was stock in d traffic for hours cus some students blocked dat road. Others couldn't go to work etc.

A lot of things went wrong and thousands were deprived one way or the other.

All these ppl also have rights which were taken from them. And by Allaah, this right shall be returned on THAT day...

So imagine the number of ppl u have deprived today. Two wrongs never make a right.

If u say d protest is to honour d girl, that falls under wailing over the dead: wailing over the dead is a major sin. RasooluLlaah called it a form of disbelief.

The black friday, it has no basis. U taking part would be a form of imitation of the non believers. Which also a major sin. Whoever immitates a group of ppl is one of them (hadith).

As an aside, it is not wrong to sympathise with the family, as a Muslim. However, unlike the ignorant ones, we Muslims have principles which set us apart.

U may find that protest is popular in some parts of the Muslim world, however, it is wrong. And we all know and can see the aftermath.

And if u only sent the bc by way of solidarity, u will have d same sin as those who go for it will have.

U will have sins for corparting in evil and transgression.

Shaytaan beautifies sins. Pls dont fall into these traps.

Again, it is really sad that such happened to Oluchi. But please think about the implications of u joining this protest, few of which are mentioned above.

May Allaah honour me and you.

Abu Umar

Pls share with brothers and sisters.
Did I hear you saying protest is a sin in Islam? Being a violence religion, I don't think anyone should condemn Muslims participation in the protest. Except because the name of the lady sounds as if a christian if not one.

peachafrique1:
I was duped by Jennifer Kendy C Ukanwa, a fiancee to jeremiah ogbebor. I paid in the sum of N120,000 into her account on the 11th of December 2014 for a bale of London used gowns. 115,000 was for the bale while 5000 was supposed to be used to help me buy items for my baby. She sent the baby items 3 months later after I went thru hell. But till today my 115,000 has not been given back to me. She stopped picking my calls despite the fact that I kept pleading with her because I was just a struggling woman. On several occasions I cried on the phone begging her. But she didn't care. Pls whoever knows her should pls help me beg her in the name of God. She gave me her account number as Jennifer C. Ukanwa 0122210294 GTB and that of her fiance as usiosefe O. Ogbebor 2081987759 Zenith bank who bears Jeremiah ogbebor on facebook. But I ended up transferring it to her account on that fateful day. Please whoever knows her should beg her and her fiance for me. She doesn't pick my calls nor reply my messages. Above is a proof from the transfer that was made to her. Pls help me beg them to return my sweat they looted with.
Drop her phone number here. I will plead on your behalf. Trust me. She must pay your money

@seeun, never mind. Anyway, there it is in bold letters. However, it was just a simple observation, nothing to worry about really. Every Nigerian Paypal user would like the restriction lifted ASAP. I personally hope they do so soon. Have a nice day.
Its okay, though, I still can't find any error on that line. Don't mind me, I'm poor when it comes to Spoken English. Thanks for your observation

...I'm glad you got in touched with us and I get this clarified for you...

Ordinarily when I receive any message online, I first look out for 'gram errors' because spam/fraudulent messages tend to contain one or two. In this case, since the message was not unsolicited, it may simply be a typographical error... though I'm sure you'll agree with me that it's kinda unusual for a mega company like Paypal. Remain blessed.
I've tried to read the message times without number in search of the grammatical or typographical errors, but couldnt see one. My inability to find could be the result of my poor strength in English spoken. Can you just help in pointing out where you see one probably I can learn from you. No offence please. God bless

angry Interesting but... My observation is the unforced grammatical errors smuggled into the assumed Paypal reply. This is a trademark of Internet fraudsters.
Nothing was smuggled into this message. The exact message I received was posted here. Would you just point out grammatical errors you notice from the message?
WebmastersPaypal Response To My Payment Receiving Complaint by seeun(op): 7:39am On Aug 18, 2015
I sent a mail to paypal in complain of inability to receive payment from paypal in Nigeria. Below is the reply I got.

Dear

Hi! My name is Miles from PayPal Consumer Support. I hope all is well with you today. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I’m glad to clear things up about the receiving payment feature.

We are doing our best to make the payment receiving feature available in the near future. Since PayPal has just recently launched the services in your country, currently, the receiving payment feature is not yet available.

Don’t worry, I’m glad to inform you that we have already submitted the application for the option to receive payments with your Nigerian banking regulators. This is to comply with local laws and financial regulations in Nigeria. Online safety and compliance is a top priority for us. We continue to work very closely with regulators in your country to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations.

In the mean time, I recommend using or arranging other payment solutions to receive funds from your client (e.g. money order, check, etc.) I’m glad to inform you that sending money or international payment is free.

Alternatively, if you maintain an address in a country where the receive payment service is available and if you have financials in the said country, you may register a PayPal account in any of the following countries: South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Botswana, Mozambique.

You have my assurance that we’re constantly working towards expanding our service to include this feature since it would be beneficial for both of us to offer this to you. When additional features are made available you’ll be the first to know.

If you have additional questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at +1-402-517-4519 Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM local Nigeria time.

I'm glad you got in touched with us and I get this clarified for you. Your patience is greatly appreciated. We are pleased to have you as a member of the PayPal community.

Sincerely,
