Note : Letter of credit : A letter from a bank guaranteeing that a buyer's payment to a seller will be received on time and for the correct amount. In the event that the buyer is unable to make payment on the purchase, the bank will be required to cover the full or remaining amount of the purchase.
Letters of credit are often used in international transactions to ensure that payment will be received. Due to the nature of international dealings including factors such as distance, differing laws in each country and difficulty in knowing each party personally, the use of letters of credit has become a very important aspect of international trade. The bank also acts on behalf of the buyer (holder of letter of credit) by ensuring that the supplier will not be paid until the bank receives a confirmation that the goods have been delivered.

The Money Behind a Letter of Credit

A bank promises to pay on behalf of a customer, but where does the money come from?

The bank will only issue a letter of credit if they know the buyer will pay. Some buyers have to deposit (or already have) enough money to cover the letter of credit, and some customers use a line of credit with the bank. Sellers must trust that the bank issuing the letter of credit is legitimate.

A seller only gets paid after performing specific actions that the buyer and seller agree to.


Getting a Letter of Credit

To get a letter of credit, visit your bank. Ask if they can help you with a letter of credit, or if they have any suggestions.


6.  We will purchase your car immediately your letter of credit has been approved by our company(usually within 3-4 working days) and agreement will be signed by you(the buyer) and our company(the seller) with witnesses.
7. Your car will be taken to the nearest port
8.  Shipment to Nigeria on RORO takes 21-32 days. It may be longer for containers.
9.  Your car is cleared by our company within 3-5 days of arrival
10.  Delivery is done
11.   You contact your bank to credit our company account.

NOTE - The whole process takes between 4-6weeks and if final payment isn't done within 3days after delivery,it will attract extra charges.
