He is wrong. Buhari just set a trap for him and he fell for it. Tinubu is the most unwise leader the nation has ever had. Buhari was on the throne for 8 years and with all the cry from left right and centre for him to remove subsidy, he refused and stylishly pushed its removal till the expiration of his tenure. Every wise person should have asked why didn't Buhari remove the subsidy at the beginning of the financial year when the budget was been prepared but he has to pushed it till 6 months after the financial year has begun, when he is sure to have left the office and the burden of cons of subsidy removal won't be his problem again and our brother Tinubu fell for it.
Those and many in support of the removal of subsidy are those living well and may or not feel the impact of its removal.
Fuel is our main stake in Nigeria. Anything that affect the fuel either financially or otherwise, affect every other components of our life. It's like Nigeria driver. It drives everything you can talk of because we have no alternative to rely on and that is why is telling on the masses and affecting all goods and services as it were. And this will continue to affect them till the country diversify the economy.
Buhari's aides must have told him the repercussions of subsidy removal and that might have propelled him to tarry its removal till end of his tenure. As a wise leader, Tinubu should have mounted the office and sit properly to weigh the pros and cons before going on the adventure of removing or not removing it. Now, it has crippled his government and he is shy to revert it back because of shame of backlash he will suffer.
The amount he has wasted to cushion the effects of subsidy removal I am sure is even more than the amount he would have paid in subsidy. See trillions upon trillions that they have spent and still spending till date to cushion fuel subsidy removal and it won't stop till the end of his tenure. The unwise leader.
