Even the Baltic Sea area have been experiencing severe GPS jamming by Russia, forcing Finland, Sweden and co to suspend some flights due to GPS interference. Ships on the Baltic Sea nearly collide into each other due to the jamming. But NATO does a really great job at hiding it from the public.

The Taliban has sacked hundreds of men from Afghanistan’s security forces because they are unable to grow beards.

Thousands of musical instruments had also been destroyed by the militant group in the past year, the notorious ministry for the propagation of virtue and prevention of vice said in its annual update.

Mohibullah Mokhlis, the director of planning and legislation at the ministry, told a press conference in Kabul that “281 beardless officers were identified, confirmed and dismissed” from the country’s security services in the past 12 months.

“The hairstyles of 450 military mujahideen were corrected to comply with Sharia law,” he added. “And some who repeated the [hairstyle] violation were sent to military courts.”

The Taliban has prohibited barbers in several provinces from shaving or trimming beards, claiming that the edict aligns with Sharia law.

It is mandatory for Muslim men to have a beard that is at least the “length of a fist”, according to Islamic law, which is strictly upheld by the Taliban.

Trimming one’s beard shorter than fist length or shaving it entirely is considered haram in Afghanistan, where the beard is considered “a distinctive feature” given to men to “set them apart from women” by the “divine wisdom of God”.

Former Taliban security forces told The Telegraph that they had been dismissed for shaving their faces or not being able to grow a sufficient beard.

“I cannot grow a beard, and they constantly called and harassed me,” said one officer who was recently sacked. “Around three months ago, the commander told me that I could no longer stay in the unit because of my beard.”

“I joined them for financial reasons, but throughout my year with them, I faced lots of harassment over my inability to grow a beard. They would say I wasn’t a true Muslim,” he said.

“About 10 other people were also told that day not to return,” he added. “Some of them were middle-aged men with lots of experience, but they were dismissed simply because they did not have beards, I mean they cannot have one.”

Experienced men were among those who were dismissed by the Taliban for their inability to grow facial hair.

Separately, the Taliban’s regime disclosed that 21,328 musical instruments had been destroyed in the past year.

Jalil Ahmad, a former guitar teacher in the western city of Herat, recounted how morality forces had stormed his home earlier this year and beaten him for owning several musical instruments.

“They knocked on the door, and I saw them through the window. I told my family not to open it, but one of them climbed over the gate and jumped into the yard. He unlocked the door and five more officers stormed into the house,” he said.

The police ransacked his house and discovered five guitars and several other instruments.

The 31-year-old was then taken to a police station, where he said he had been severely beaten.

“They were saying, ‘The foreigners are gone and you cannot live with the devil’s instruments any more,’” he said.

“They flogged me and repeatedly punched me in the face,” he explained. “They accused me of holding classes, but I had stopped teaching a year ago.”

Officials said on Tuesday that more than 13,000 Afghans had been detained for “immoral acts” over the past year, with half of those having been released after 24 hours.

The ministry did not break down the types of the alleged offences or gender of the detainees.

The morality ministry, which took over the disbanded women’s ministry premises in Kabul after the Taliban came to rule in 2021, has been criticised by human rights organisations and the United Nations for restrictions on women and inhibiting freedom of expression.

It has banned females from working with aid agencies, closed beauty salons, prohibited women from entering parks and restricted travel without a male guardian. Girls over the age of 12 have been excluded from education since the Taliban’s return to power.

For many Western governments, the education ban remains a major obstacle to formal recognition of the Taliban administration.

The ministry said that a new plan was being worked on to ensure its Islamic dress rules would be followed, overseen by Hibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader.

“Based on the guidance of the supreme leader, the draft plan for observing women’s hijab [Islamic dress] has been formulated and approved,” Mokhlis said.

This may sound like an urban legend, the plot of a crazy space-western movie or even something Han Solo would be looking for in a Star Wars film, but it's actually a very true story.

That's right, it's time to start building your best attempt at a spaceship as there's a major interstellar gold rush waiting to happen.

Named 16 Psyche, this floating gold mine was discovered all the way back in 1852 by Italian astronomer Annibale de Gasparis and named after an ancient Greek goddess.

The prize? An asteroid worth 10 quintillion US dollars, which is enough to make everyone currently alive a billionaire.

It's believed that 16 Psyche is filled with metals such as iron, nickel, gold, which is why it has such an extremely high monetary valuation.

As we said before, the asteroid has an estimated value of 10 quintillion US dollars. Which is still a crazy amount of money if you convert it into British pounds, Euros or Japanese Yen.

There's only one small problem, NASA states that 16 Psyche is 'about three times farther away from the Sun than is Earth' and sits in orbit between Mars and Jupiter.

This isn't to say that NASA don't have aspirations to reach 16 Psyche, with the US space administration announcing in October 2023 that it had launched an unmanned spacecraft with the goal of reaching 16 Psyche.

Confirming the news in statement, NASA said: "Teams of engineers and technicians are working almost around the clock to ensure the orbiter is ready to journey 2.5 billion miles to a metal-rich asteroid that may tell us more about planetary cores and how planets form."

To put that in perspective, the farthest astronauts have successfully made it to is the moon. Which means we've still got quite a way to go before mankind masters deep space travel.How long will it take to reach 16 Psyche?

NASA expects the spacecraft to pass nearby Mars in 2026, before using the planet’s gravity as a slingshot to increase velocity and propel it towards the asteroid.

It's estimated that it will cost NASA around $1.2 billion (£930 million) to develop, launch, and operate the Psyche mission.

Are we about to become very rich?

The bad news is that NASA currently has no plans to mine the asteroid, with the currently journey to 16 Psyche being purely to conduct scientific research.

All being well, it is then expected that the spacecraft will enter 16 Psyche's gravity field by July 2029. At this point the craft will begin orbiting the asteroid until November 2031.That's not to say that opportunities to mine the asteroid won't be available in the future, however a source of wealth which is worth more than the entire economy of the planet would certainly raise ethical debates regarding how the resource would be used.

Perhaps until that point, it's better that 16 Psyche remains in space.

Ukrainian troops stormed Russian borders in the first invasion of Russia since World War 2.

President Volodymyr Zelensky's men went on the offensive with a barrage of calculated strikes as they pushed back against Vlad's army who steamed into Ukraine in February 2022.

Moscow launched a massive "counter-terror operation" in three regions on Saturday as the defence ministry announced a major deployment of their military capabilities over to the frontlines.

In a statement to local media they said Russia is moving "multiple rocket launchers, towed artillery guns, tanks transported on trawls, heavy tracked vehicles and Ural and Kamaz trucks".

They are being sent to defend Kursk's Sudzhansky District which has been at the heart of Ukrainian attacks since Tuesday morning.

Despite the emergency deployment of troops the ministry claim they have now prevented Ukraine from advancing further into Russian land.

They declared they had "thwarted the attempts of the enemy’s mobile groups to get to the depth of the Russian territory".The Russian army has even used a thermobaric bomb to suffocate its targets, say reports.

Claims of Putin halting the Ukrainian march have been largely dismissed however as the flocks of Kursk residents were ordered to evacuate the war-torn region.

At least 76,000 have already left so far with Russian authorities setting up temporary accommodation in eight regions - with up to 60 shelters.

People have been seen flocking out of the blitzed region on buses, trains and cars after repeated strikes in the last few days.


He said in his nightly address: "Today, I received several reports from Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi regarding the front lines and our actions to push the war onto the aggressor's territory.

"Ukraine is proving that it can indeed restore justice and ensure the necessary pressure on the aggressor."
