- A man has been arrested for selling his six-year old brother - The man, 19, said he sold his younger brother to a ritualist to realise money to pay for bride price - He also said he sold his brother on credit to the ritualist at N20,000 A 19-year old man has been arrested for selling his six-year old brother at the Nagenu village in Katcha local government area, Niger state, in order to raise money for his bride price. Aliyu Basala Mohammed sold his brother to one Legbo from Afuwagi village in Mokwa local government of the state for ritual purpose. Confessing at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID), Mohammed said he took his younger brother, Yamusa Ibrahim Yakutchi to Legbo, a notorious criminal and ritualist on credit. He said he also hoped to use the money to pay his 14-year-old bride to be's price. According to him, Mohammed Legbo, who is now on the run with the victim was expected to pay him the N20,000 after completion of the ritual. Bisala attributed his action to the handiwork of the devil, saying he had intended to use part of the N20,000 proceeds from sale of his younger brother to pay the bride price of his wife to be, Fatima who is also from the same village. “I blame the devil for pushing me to plot the evil plans and to carrying it out against the little boy who I cannot tell of his whereabouts with Legbo as at now,” Bisala, who rarely spoke Hausa except Nupe said as he sobs profusely in regrets for his actions. “I am a bachelor, I was only enrolled in an Islamic school during my childhood days by my parents and my parents could not afford to enroll me for western education while I only speak our local dialect, Nupe language because I cannot speak or understand Hausa language too.” “Legbo who is about 30 years old and an indigene of Afuagi in Mokwa Local Government could not be found when the police visited his village to arrest him," he added. This had turn out to be a good omen for him. Whenever he sneezed rapidly, his operation was always successful. He had told Mike to meet him early but Mike had still not arrive. He cursed silently as he sneezed again. He hoped his sneeze would not give him out in his hideout. Well, nobody could catch him, not him. He had carried out more deadly operations in the past. He reminisce on the past operations as he sneezed again. This was becoming frustrating. He was not a thief, he had never stolen anything from his victims. He was not an assassin but that was what many thought he was. Maybe because he always killed his victims but he was not sent by anybody. He sent himself. They knew the him. He had been caught in the CCTV during one of his operations. He had been declared wanted with a large sum attached to it. In truth, he had killed many prominent citizens of the country to be forgiven but he had his reasons, he would always say. He caught a slow movement in the dark and sneezed again. He knew who it was. It was Mike, his companion in crime. Mike had agreed to help him after he relayed his situation to him. Having been sacked from the Police Force, Mike had taken into crime. He managed to get guns from his friends in the Force. John knew at once that the operatiom must be quickly completed. He brought out his pistol and checked its bullet. 'The law', Mike croaked, 'I'm sorry for being late' John shook his head from side to side. He always did when called by this nickname. It made him remember his purpose in life which is to kill all Lawyers in the country. It made him hate the law. The nickname made him feel above the law 'Let us be on our way' he managed to say. He liked his present feeling. The feeling of going to take another one's life. Mike drew out his gun. He had customize it with the first letter of his own name. He had sworn not to use another gun until that particular one refused him. 'Is it fully loaded?', John asked, blowing his nose with a wet handkerchief. Mike kept mute. He hated seeing John behaving like his boss. Afterall, he had only agree to help him out. He had produced the instruments- the gun, the money, the everything and John was only a brain. He only gave idea. The two managed to climb the fence of a building after carefully cutting the electric barbed wire on the fence. This gave them easy access into the compound, although this was not without Mike sustaining a cut on his chin. John re-assured him it was worth the injury. ******* Barrister Dende was having dinner with his family when they knocked. He was a short fat man who has reputation for bribing his way to winning cases. Although he has lost more cases than he has won, people still patronize him because of his self-acclaimed connection he has all over the country. He also has a knack for using big grammars with which he usually bamboozled his opponents and the judges. The knock rang again and Barrister Dende jerked. If there was one thing Barrister Dende hated most, it was nocturnal visitors. 'Good things don't come in the night. The night is meant for evil', he always say. 'What can I do for you?' Barrister Dende said briskly, hoping the nocturnal vistor would read meanings to his face and proposed their visit. 'I think the reverse should be the case. We're rather at the best position of doing something for you and not you doing something for us' John retorted. Barrister Dende had had enough of the rude nocturnal visitors. He made to close the door but John was faster. He pushed the Barrister aside and brought out a gun. He slowly inserted the silencer. 'ple...please my friend, I have plenty of money in my bedroom. If that's what you want, you can take all', the Barrister begged. 'We do not want any of your cash and we are not here for your money', Mike, who was silent since spoke for the first time. 'What are you here for? Please spare my life. You can have anything you...', John pressed the trigger and the Barrister slumped before he could finish speaking.
