The tears flowed unchecked down Janet's cheeks and dripped from her chin. She was too sad to cry out or wail, she just sat on her bed as still as a statue while the magnitude of her detriment swept over her.., never have she been embarrassed and insulted especially over a man the way she had the previous day....

She shouldn't cry, she knew it was stupid to, but she's really hurt by the words even more than she ever anticipated..., the harsh words and insults reaches into her heart threatening to never depart....
She glance at her phone again only to see Kenny's calls that she never answered, the calls reminding her of the encounter with his wife...men are so wicked, evil....

She wipe her eyes dry when the knock on her door rumbled again, then she stood up from the bed and trot towards the door.., she stood to take a deep breathe before unlocking the door....

She should be angry when she saw him at her door, but instead, her emotions took place crackling her heart like a glass, spreading it's pieces throughout her body, she imagined him holding hands with his wife as he used to hold hers and It felt as if her bright world had gone dark, like a big curtain being pulled across the sky..., she didn't realise she love him this much until now......

"What do you want..?"Janet queried wearing a strong facade...

"Are you okay.."Kenny ask softly before leaning closer..."I've been calling and texting you, you haven't been answering and replying my messages..., i was worried so i came looking for you..."

"Wow...."Janet sass..."How sweet of you to do that..."

"I don't understand your change of attitude, was it something i did..?"

Janet frown, the urge to slap the pretense from him overwhelming her..."Am really surprise you didn't bring your wife along so she can continue from where she stopped...."

"My wife..!"

"Oh please stop the pretense..."Janet snarled..

"Am not pretending, i don't even understand what you're talking about..."

Head swelling with anger, Janet eyed him and was about going back into the house with the intention of closing the door after her but he held her hand, his touch triggered her anger and she retaliated by slapping his hand off...

"Do not touch me you lying piece of dog shit..."She scowled...

"What's going on with you.."Kenny blare out..."I don't understand anything you're saying, if it's something i have done you have to tell me..."

Janet bit her lips hard that she wince, she deserve it for been so stupid, for falling for his charms quickly....."Men.., why do you deny even when the truth is staring at you in the face..."

Daisy exhale and rearrange her gown the moment she saw Simon in the restaurant, she stylishly preen herself on the window glass making sure her makeup is in place before she open the door to head towards him...

She almost collaspe on her step when half of the eyes of the people turn to her side..., what were they looking at, her short gown..., she held her head high and waltzed on with an effortless saunter. The clicking of her heels adding rhythm to the soft classical music that played onward without pause giving her lookers something to mouthed on....

Simon smiled when she drew closer and she returned the smile before gallantly sitting opposite him....

"Hi..."She said

Simon's skin tingled with the sound of her voice and his heart beat erratically in his chest so hard that he thought it might fly out. There were butterflies, maybe lions in his chest, but it felt good......, he finally admitted to himself what he knew all along, but was too afraid to admit, he liked her a lot, and he wants to be with her no matter what it'll take...

"Jesus..."He coos lustfullly, "You're too beautiful..."

Daisy almost blush, if only he knows she was there with him because she had to wait for prince Tarris to finish with his meeting so she can meet him at his hotel room..., though she wasn't comfortable going to see a man she had seen once in a hotel room but she need to, the man might go a long way in helping to get that annoying brute out of her house for good....

"Thank you...."She pouted dropping her handbag on the table before her eyes scanned the restaurant in determination in search of no one in particular...

"Now i know why you declined me the opportunity of coming to pick you up...."Simon chimes in..

Her brows flutter..."Which is..?"

"You know I'll die from drooling over you..., God you're so beautiful...."

She gave him an eyeshot when he jut his chin, right there, she knew he wants to lie....

She poked her eyes at him

Daisy sigh, a sigh of relief..."Yes she have.., she called this morning..."

"Wow, did she return to the house...?"

"No..., she's crashing at her aunt's place until this whole charade dies down..."

"Please, that man will survive just anything..., he's a brute who has refused to die..."

Simon chuckle..."You praying he dies...?"

Daisy woke up as if there was an emergency, as if sleeping had become a dangerous thing. Her heart beats fast and there was a buzzing in her brain and together they were as panic with jump-leads. Only now her brain is as a flat battery, the exertions of the previous day being a marathon of erratic problem-solving and finding a missing person..

She wipe her eyes clean and made a sluggish yawn before reaching for her phone to check if there is missed call, missed calls from Laura or anyone who must have see her and deem it fit to report..., God she's thinking silly odds and ends...

She narrowed her eyes with shock when she glance at her phone time and realized the time was past 9, God she must have over slept after wallowing on thoughts on where Laura might be all through the night....., she yawned again and stood from the bed, she stag-walked into the bathroom, she washed her face and walked back to the bed..., her hands wants to start the daily work but the rest of her body was still lagging from the sleep and needed more..., in response, she threw herself back into bed...

She sigh, more of resentment towards the person who was knocking on her room door...., she didn't want to answer, but he knocked louder, she furiously jump up, anger swimming inside her, she unlock the door with the key and yell directly at his face...."What do you want...?"

"And good morning to you too...."Matthew replied softly with a smile across his cheeks...

Daisy eyes lowered down to the tray of bread, tea and fried eggs he was holding, the aroma souring deep into her stomach...

"Ravishing breakfast for my girl..."Matthew added still keeping his smile...

Daisy frown...."Take your breakfast away Matthew...."

"Not a chance.."

She felt like punching him for having the guts to appear in front of her with a tray of his poison after his drama the previous day...."Bye asshole..."She chided almost shutting the door in his face...

"Daisy please.., am sorry..."He stated quickly before she had the chance to forcefully closed the door and shove the food on his face...

She heaved a low grunt..."Is this what you do now, offend me and try to make up with food, what do you think i am.., a food hedonist..."

"No, far from that, actually i thought bringing food to you in the bed will be romantic..."

She scoff..."Am not doing romantic with you you weasling annoying manwhore...".

He lean closer and touch her waist but she slapped his hand off..

"And tell them what huh, that your boyfriend is touching you..."

She almost slapped him but decided to reach for her ringing phone unknowingly giving him the opportunity to step into her room..

"Am talking to you Daisy..."He groaned walking close to her...

Ignoring him, she pick her phone and stare at the unknown number calling her...

"Don't answer the call..."Matthew said infuriated

She glare at him before she dared to touch the answer button.....

"Hello..."She said

There was silence on the other end, when the person spoke up, her heart raced with unexpected joy...
"Laura...."She mutter.....

Pushed to his boiling point, Matthew snatched the phone from her ears and threw it on the bed.....

"I told you not to answer the damn call..."He snarled

Daisy look at the phone, then she turn to Matthew side like an enraged panther ready for destruction, a vein bulged in the back of her neck, rage in her eyes, she slapped him hard right across his face...., the hot slap resounding in his face over and over...

Daisy's fingers pressed into the skin of her forearm, Her whole body shaking and bones rattling in the constant fear of the policemen words that still loomed before her....her heart pounded so hard against her ribcage as her pulse pressed outward, jerking the veins within...., she let go of the adrenaline coursing through her system and dialled Janet's number again.., lucky for her, she answered...

"Daisy..."Janet's voice resonated with the beep..

Daisy's heart twisted and sunk with nerves..."The police were here..."She said, voice shaking from the pumps in her heart..

Daisy exhale trying to calm her panic..."Yeah, they were looking for Laura..., they said she's wanted for murder..."

"Jesus.., is Richard dead...?"Janet blare out

Berserk eat at Daisy's stomach..."I don't know, i asked the policemen, they didn't tell me anything..."

Once again, fear found Daisy as they entered the hospital, she knew it was stupid to be scared but she couldn't help it..., her fear spoke to her in its cackling voice that Richard could be dead and coming to the hospital to confirm could be a bad idea. her legs went weak, her stomach lurch and her heart began to ache......

"Do you remember the room...?"Lily asked increasing her pace...

Incapacitated with fear, Daisy mutter..."Yeah.."

They walk in silence until they got to the door..., the curtains to the windows were closed making colour drained from Daisy's face, her adrenaline surged up so fast she almost vomit...
