Politics › Re: No House of Reps Member Receives Less Than ₦1bn For Constituency Project by simply22: 3:28pm On May 15, 2025 |
Asalu, who is a former Reps aspirant for Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the state made the claim while speaking at a recent meeting with his supporters and member of the APC.
This man was reportedly speaking at a local meeting of his supporters. This is a huge information that should come directly from the mouth of the President himself. He should find time to speak to the nation frequently. He should let the nation know what he is doing. Before this Mr. Asalu made this revelation, majority of Nigerians did not know that the Federal Government was giving so much money to members of the National Assembly. People need to know. That is one of the responsibilities of the President himself. He did not need to send it through any of his advisers or assistants. He has to do it himself, that is responsible governance. Afterall, the bulk stops at his desk. The moment he sends this type of information directly to the public, there will be changes in the way the public will start to hold their National Assembly members (Senate and House of Reps) accountable. Doing these types of big things secretly and keeping quiet is a direct way of enabling corruption and irresponsible behavior by members of the National Assembly. |
