The European Union has donated €50M (N21 Billion) to Nigerian Government to battle and stop the spread of Coronavirus in the country. 




The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has commended the European Union, EU, for donating the sum of N21 Billion to support the efforts of Nigeria towards controlling the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

While receiving the EU delegations to the country, led by Ambassador Ketil Karlsen, PMB revealed the donation would go a long way in supporting Nigeria’s efforts at controlling and containing the virus and to prevent community spread.

He said,

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and communities impacted. We are confident from history that the resilience of Europe and our global collective will enable us to emerge stronger from this tragedy.

‘Although, the EU is facing significant challenges due to this pandemic, I am indeed touched and grateful that the European Union still had the vision and foresight to remember its friends, partners and allies across the world."

Also, Buhari lauded EU on the recent launch of the "Team Europe" package to support countries in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic and its consequences.

However, the President noted that the intervention, which is a collaboration between EU, its member states, and financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, would go a long way in ensuring the impact of the pandemic was controlled and contained.



The President,

"Indeed, this brotherly support will save millions of lives.

Nigeria, Africa and many beneficiary countries across the world will remain grateful for generations to come".

"I want to assure you that in this fight, Nigerians are united and by the grace of God and the continued support from our partners, we shall succeed".

Meanwhile, Ambassador Karlsen, in his remarks described the donation, channelled through the UN COVID-19 basket fund as, so far, the largest single contribution to the response in Nigeria and the largest support that EU is providing anywhere outside Europe.

He said;

"We heard your call for assistance and the EU has reacted swiftly as a demonstration of our true partnership".

Saudi Arabia has suspended the group prayers in Ramadan "Taraweeh" because of Covid-19 Pandemic.




On Monday, Saudi Arabia announced the suspension of  Taraweeh prayers in Mecca and Medina during the Ramadan due to Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan is expected to begin on April 23.

The Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, in a statement, announced that the suspension of the important prayer during Ramadan is to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

However, Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh, the minister of Islamic affairs said the prayers will be performed at home for health safety.

Taraweeh prayers in Islam are very important and rewarding during the Holy month.

The statement reads;

"The suspension of performing the five daily prayers at mosques is more important than the suspension of Taraweeh prayers.

"We ask Allah the Almighty to accept Taraweeh prayers whether held at mosques, or homes, which we think is better for people’s health.

We ask Allah the Almighty to accept prayers from all of us and protect humanity from this epidemic that hit the entire world.

"This is a precaution in line with the prohibition of gatherings, so that funeral prayers take place at cemeteries should not exceed five to six of the deceased’s relatives, and the rest pray at their homes."




Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has 4,934 cases and 65 deaths related to Coronavirus as of Monday.

Covid-19 Pandemic have led three Pastors to take Government to court due to Church Service's ban. 




It has been reported that three pastors have sued Kenyan Government for banning church services and religious gathering due to Coronavirus Pandemic.

However, the government had earlier issued a lockdown order in order to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in Kenya.


On Friday, The High Court judge, Justice James Makau revealed that three pastors, Don Mutugi Majau, Joan Miriti, and Alex Gichunge sued the Interior, Health and ICT Cabinet Secretaries, the Attorney-General and the Inspector-General of Police.




According to Nairobi News, the hearing has been set for April 16th.

Justice Makau ordered the pastors to give copies of the case documents to the sued parties before the close of business on April 14.

In the suit, the pastors argued that as COVID-19 pandemic worsens, Kenyans will look to churches for solace.

They argued that the state imposed the curfew and the restriction on religious gatherings without consulting the church.

Therefore, they proposed that pastors should be added to the list of essential service providers in the fight against the deadly disease.

The petitioner's lawyer, John Swaka wrote:

"The petitioners (and) other believers are in no way approaching this court in efforts to spread the coronavirus. Their only wish is to congregate whilst adhering to the directive issued.

The church’s role in such times is to give hope amid the crisis not only in this country but also in the world at large.

They humbly seek the intervention of the court since their rights and freedoms are being infringed."

The case will be mentioned on April 16.

Following the National Assembly's bill for Nigerians to offer two months of free electricity to cushion the effect of the coronavirus pandemic, The Power Distribution Companies in Nigeria have supported the bill.




Recently, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has disclosed that a stimulus bill will be passed to ensure the Power Holding Company of Nigeria give Nigerians two months of free electricity.

On Wednesday, while reacting to this, in a statement signed by Sunday Oduntan the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors, ANED, agreed to work with NASS on the modalities for free electricity as soon as possible.



ANED said they were working on palliative measures to implement free two months power supply to Nigerians to help cushion the effect of Coronavirus pandemic.




The statement reads:

"The electricity distribution companies recognise the challenging effects of the coronavirus on the economic and daily lives of Nigerians.

In fulfillment of our commitments to the nation, we align ourselves with the efforts of the National Assembly and the Federal Executive to mitigate the hardship that is currently being borne by our customers.




We are committed to working with them to ensure more efficient power supply within this difficult period, as the nation battles with the ravages of COVID-19.

We are also completely aligned with the plans to ensure palliative measures, including free electricity supply to all Nigerians for two months, to make life easier, during the lockdown period. Details of implementation to come soon."

The whole world really needs some explanations from China about this situation of Coronavirus.


It's no more a news that this deadly coronavirus also known as Covid-19 came from China in Asia continent.

As at this moment, the stats of the number of COVID-19 cases across the world shows (in a glance) the below results since the outbreak of this deadly pandemic.

Top 7 affected countries

In brief, US recorded 185,270 cases with 6,347 recoveries and 3780 death. Italy has 105,792 cases, 15,729 recoveries with most death cases of 12,428.




However, we noticed that China had 81,518 cases and 76,052 recoveries 92.5% rate.

Initially, it started in China as they gave the world this virus and now has the highest recovery rate.


If we look at this deeply, it's either China has a cure or vaccine that they are not sharing with the world. Or China may be lying about the true numbers, maybe lying about the true purpose and intention of this virus unleashed on the world.


Meanwhile, some countries like Spain and Czech Republic had recently lamented that China sold fake testing kits to them.


In another way, the earliest clusters outside China was Japan, Thailand, South Korea. Today, Japan has 1600 cases with 400 recoveries. Thailand has 1300 cases with 97 recoveries. And they were the first countries affected outside China.



It seems there are a lot to this and they owes everyone in the world an explanation.


Another thing we didn't notice is how  this virus missed the most important cities in terms of economy and trade for China, Shanghai and Beijing.

Milan in Italy was hit. London, Lagos, Abuja, Paris, New York City was hit hard. Only China’s best cities escaped.

This coronavirus has ruined many things all over the world but China is smiling now. Something is fishy.

All these will soon comes to an end and we are going to have enough time investigate this and allow China to answer some questions.

The whole world has already learned some lessons from current situation. May God help us all.
