Let it crippled it completely. If local production are not affordable until the foreign Rice were brought to the market, then what is the essence?. The local one nearly choked the whole country. If not recently that the foreign Rice came down in price, the local production are not ready to bring down the price. Even till now, the foreign Rice are still more cheaper than the local Rice. |

The Dark Legacy of France: A History of Atrocities Against Islam and Muslims
France's colonial legacy is stained with a long history of violence, exploitation, and atrocities committed against Muslims across various regions. These are not mere historical footnotes but deep scars that continue to affect communities to this day.
In 1917, during its occupation of Chad, France reportedly gathered 400 Muslim scholars and beheaded them with machetes, an act intended to crush the intellectual and spiritual backbone of the Muslim community. Decades earlier, in 1852, when French forces entered the Algerian city of Laghouat, they exterminated two-thirds of its population, burning people alive in a single night of horror.
Between 1960 and 1966, France conducted 17 nuclear tests in Algeria, causing radiation exposure that led to an estimated 27,000 to 100,000 casualties. The devastating effects of these tests are still felt today in the form of birth defects, cancer, and contaminated land. As a final blow before its withdrawal in 1962, France left behind 11 million landmines, more than the population of Algeria at the time—turning vast stretches of land into death traps.
During the 132-year occupation of Algeria, France systematically brutalized its people. In the first seven years alone, one million Muslims were killed. In the final years before independence, another 1.5 million lives were lost in the brutal struggle for freedom. French historian Jacques Gorky estimated the total number of Muslims killed by France in Algeria from 1830 to 1962 at a staggering 10 million.
France's colonial reach extended far beyond Algeria. It occupied Tunisia for 75 years, Morocco for 44 years, and Mauritania for 60 years—each region bearing its own stories of oppression and resistance.
Even during Napoleon’s campaign in Egypt, French soldiers violated sacred spaces. They stormed mosques on horseback, raped free women in front of their families, drank alcohol within mosques, and converted places of worship into stables for their horses—demonstrating a shocking level of disregard for Islamic traditions and dignity.
Despite these atrocities, some still glorify French civilization while turning a blind eye to its brutal colonial past. It is both ironic and tragic that today, Islam is unjustly labeled as a religion of terrorism, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is defamed—while the perpetrators of centuries of violence are praised for their so-called “civilization.”
Let history not be forgotten. This is France. This is its true legacy. |

I'm just wondering why the students are being addressed as 'Bellstech students' when the school is not a university of technology. Their need for a catchy name took priority over the need for the name to be all encompassing. Not only University of technology but first private university of technology in Nigeria. |

Eriokanmi: No politician can do without the north. Jonathan in his first term, received the favour of the entire south and the north Central. The votes from the core north was jaara and it went a long way. Tinubu isn't on same pedestal today. His woeful performance will even change the mind of those in the south west who gave him a consolation vote in 2023. They fell for his lies when he said he built lagos. Now they know better.
The 2027 result will be like that of 1999 when we voted falae and he won only on the south west. I pray atiku doesn't come back. That will be easy win for tinubu cos the votes will be shared. Nigeria isn't moving forward under Tinubu. Only wicked souls and enemies of Nigeria and the common man will think otherwise No politicians can do without any of the zones. North alone can't win the presidential election period. |
