They are probably in their home planets. Some demi-gods/lesser gods are currently on Earth with humans bodies.

In the past, a god who chooses to come to Earth would do so in a spaceship and humans will worship him because back then, they believed in gods/extraterrestrials and accepted them. Now, humans no longer believe that extraterrestrials exist and even if they do, they view them with hostility because they don't look like humans in size.
