Business / UAE Signs Agreement For Crypto Trading In Dubai by Skoonheid(f): 6:43am On Sep 23, 2021
he United Arab Emirates opened a new vista in its push for digital-led economy as it signed a deal to support and encourage trading of crypto assets with the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA).

UAE’s Securities and Commodities Authority signed the agreement with DWTCA on Wednesday.

Maryam Al Suwaidi, Acting CEO signed on behalf of the exchange body, while Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of DWTCA signed for his organisation.

“As Dubai continues its drive towards an innovation and digital-led economy, DWTCA is looking to support businesses underpinned by blockchain and cryptographic technologies,” Mr Almarri said, “Our agreement with the Securities and Commodities Authority will allow DWTCA to broaden its regulatory, licenses and services capabilities, in addition to extending the centralised supervision of the crypto market to our free zone.”

The agreement between these agencies empowers the the trade centre authority to issue approvals and licenses for financial transactions involving digital assets.

The securities body will handle regulatory oversight of the issuance, offering, listing, and trading of digital assets. It will also oversee the licensing of financial activities that fall within the DWTCA’s jurisdiction.

The approval of cryptocurrency trade by the Emirati government comes along with growing acceptance of cryptocurrency and trade among world governments.

Khaleej Times reported that in May, the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority signed a similar agreement with the securities body. The report noted that Dubai’s freezone opened a blockchain-based exchange for sugar trading in 2020 and had the Bitcoin Fund listed on the Nasdaq Dubai exchange.

Whenever we talk about darkness and light, the terms seem so abstract. Many criticise and mock revelations out of sheer ignorance and stupidity. I’m here to tell you that the answers are in the books you will never read, waiting all your life in the libraries you ignored and the bookstores you didn’t visit. I’m here to tell you as well that you are your own Satan and evil can’t possibly interfere more in your life than what you’re already doing to yourself by remaining ignorant. Until you choose the light, darkness is your personal choice, and there’s no reason to feel any empathy for you.

This coming "Pandemic of the unvaccinated" has emerged as an expression of propaganda meant to provoke anger toward those who exercise medical choice in deferring or refusing the experimental vaccine. It is meant to isolate, shame, and humiliate anyone who will not agree to surrender medical autonomy to the state. It intentionally divides humans against one another while simultaneously distracting attention from the medical reality of poor vaccine efficacy and vaccine harm. The expression is devoid of scientific meaning but full of coercive psychological power. It must be challenged. I'm ready to give my life and take life to stand against this tyranny of cruel and evil men hiding behind arms of government to exert their demonic iron will. Who is with me?

Politics / Against Court Order, Edo To Begin Enforcement Of Mandatory Vaccination Wednesday by Skoonheid(f): 10:11am On Sep 15, 2021
The Edo State government on Tuesday said it would commence the enforcement of its no vaccination card, no entry into all state government owned facilities, as from Wednesday (today).

The government said the measure was aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the state.

This is coming in spite of the order of a federal high court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, which barred the state from the implementation of the policy.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Osamwonyi Irowa, who disclosed this at the daily press briefing on the virus, however, said that anybody who wanted access into any state government offices, must have his or her card to show the enforcers.

“If you have to enter the state secretariat you must have your vaccination card, we are going to implement this in all the key areas to ensure that we don’t have persons being infected because the other person is being difficult,” he said.

The commissioner said the first phase is targeted at state government facilities, noting that access to government locations across the state would be based on the vaccination cards.

“Those that cannot provide their COVID-19 vaccination card may have to excuse us and be working from home pending when a decision will be reached. As a state, we are doing everything possible to make sure people don’t get infected.

In his contribution, the head of the state’s COVID-19 regulation enforcement team, Yusuf Haruna, said the state government had trained 20 special teams that would be spread across the state to commence the enforcement.

“As we all know, the government has the responsibility to protect the lives and properties of its citizens. In view of this, we have trained 20 special teams that will be spread across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

“They will commence this enforcement from the 15th of September, 2021. What we expect our people to do is that while going to work they should go with their vaccination cards. The government is not forcing anybody but the government has the responsibility to tell you not to spread the virus.

“What we are going to do tomorrow is to grant those who have the authentic vaccination card access to their working places and those without can go back and work from home and the government will know how to deal with all of that,” Mr Haruna said.

Religion / A Pure Heart by Skoonheid(f): 8:33am On Sep 12, 2021
Religions today major on externals to the neglect of more important issues. They deal with rules, regulations and ceremonies.

This was condemned by God through the pen of Isaiah. He wrote: "The Lord says: ’These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men’" (Isaiah 29:13).

The teachers of the law were precise in their tithing , but neglected justice, mercy and faithfulness. Jesus said of them, “You strain out a gnat and swallow a camel” (Mt. 23:23-24).

Luke tells us that the Pharisees chided Jesus because he did not go through the ceremonial washings before eating. (See Lu 11:37-38)

Although the priests were commanded to wash their hands before going into the presence of the Lord, lest they die, the Pharisees had taken it beyond God’s intent. They had instituted a hand washing ceremony that had no basis in the Law and had in fact become a substitute for heart purity.

In 1Timothy 2:8, Paul used the figure of clean hands when he wrote: "I want men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension." In his statement Paul rejects ritual that is void of reality. Hands that have been lifted against a brother in anger should not be lifted to God in prayer until they have been cleansed.

Paul’s statement to Timothy was probably borrowed from Isaiah, who declared:

Isaiah 1:15-16 (NASB)

15“So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood. 16“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil."

Hands speak of external observable actions. They are lifted in prayer and worship and extended in service, but it is the thoughts and intents of the heart that determine the value of those actions. Jesus said:

Matthew 15:18 …the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man ’unclean.’ 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Matthew 12:34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

The condition of our hands, whether they are clean or not, is determined by the condition of our heart, not ceremonial washing. If I hate my brother, no amount of washing my hands will make them clean . The outward sins that defile the hands are rooted in the inward sins that defile the heart. Jeremiah told the people of Israel, "Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem, that you may be delivered" (Jer. 4:14).

God exhorts us to do more than merely modify our behavior. He calls us to deal with the attitudes, intents and motivations of our hearts.

In Psalm 24:3, David asked, "Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?" and goes on to ask, "Or who may stand in His holy place?" In simple terms David is asking, "Who can come into the presence of the Lord?"

In this liturgy, the worshipers would respond to the priests questions with, "He who has clean hands and a pure heart…" (Psalm 24:4).

Similar questions and answers are asked and given in Psalm 15. The Psalmist asks:

Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

A paraphrase of the Psalmist’s answer might read as follows:

The one who walks straight, acts right, and whose spoken word agrees with the thoughts of his heart [that is integrity]. The one who refuses to use his tongue as a weapon against others, who never harms his neighbor, and who is a friend through thick and thin. The individual who refuses to take sides with sinners, but honors those who fear the LORD. He is one who will keep his word even if it means his ruin. The man who does not crush his debtors with high interest rates, and refuses to take a bribe against the innocent. Such a man shall stand firm forever.

Those who come into the presence of the Lord cannot rely on religious ritual for their acceptance; not even when performed with excellence. They must come with a pure heart!

People with pure hearts and little talent are more effective ministers than those who have great talent and impure hearts, but we admire talent. We admire the expression, but God values the condition of the fountain from which that expression comes. Do you remember what He told Samuel concerning Eliab? He said, "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart" (1Sam. 16:7)

Politics / Shutting Down The Mobile Phone And The Downfall Of Zamfara State by Skoonheid(f): 2:54pm On Sep 07, 2021
On 1 February 2005, Nepal cut off all public telecommunication links to the outside world. According to the king, the shutdown in communications was to enable security operations against the Maoist insurgents. Landline and Internet services were restored gradually over the following weeks. But the pre-paid mobile phone service, which was used by the majority of Nepalese, stayed off for the public for 88 days. The shutdown in communications provided the environment for a natural experiment to look at the impact of the mobile phone. Researchers conducted interviews in three regions of Nepal that are taken by the Nepalese as representative of the country. Among those interviewed were politicians, including the then-prime minister, business owners, journalists, as well as military and police officers. The study found that the shutdown in mobile communications had limited success in helping security operations. The insurgents did not trust the mobile phone network and had developed their own parallel communication network. The larger impact was negative: it hurt the economy and alienated large swathes of the public, perhaps even contributing to the downfall of the king.

In the summer of 2013, the Nigerian military, as part of its counterinsurgency operations against Boko Haram insurgents, shut down GSM mobile telephony in three northeast states – Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
As usual the military claimed that the network shutdown was successful from their skewered point of view, in reality it angered citizens and engendered negative opinions toward the state and new emergency policies. While citizens developed various coping and circumventing strategies, Boko Haram evolved from an open network model of insurgency to a closed centralized system, shifting the center of its operations to the Sambisa Forest. This fundamentally changed the dynamics of the conflict, seemingly helping it metamorphose into a never ending conflict to this day.

It's either the Nigerian government and its military service do not learn or don't even read or have a think tank or strategic planning. The mobile network operators shutdown in Zamfara state is another reset and it will help strengthen the activities of the Fulani terrorists, while further damaging the economy and social development of the state even further.
