Its not the same as Australia,UK or all the other countries you talk about.

There are over 300 million privately owned guns in the US already so banning will not work.

Also gun laws are different in every state.

Thank you. It’s like a lot of people don’t know this. Gun ownership is literally a constitutional right in America. Banning guns will require a constitutional amendment which is darn near impossible in America’s currently polarized political climate. People think it’s as easy as congress just passing a law or the president signing an EO.

Also, like you said, how do you get rid of the over 300 million guns that are already in the country? That will take a monumental confiscation scheme by the federal government which will almost certainly lead to a war because some people in that country will rather die than give up their guns.

I think I wiser approach is to focus on mental health, broken families and all the other underlying social problems that lead to mass shootings. America has always had guns but the increased rate of gun violence is a relatively new phenomenon. That proves that there are other causes. It’s not just the guns.
