It was a day of solidarity and deep expression of love as Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs travelled all the way to the peace loving and agrarian town of Okwale in Khana LGA of Rivers State in the company of his associates to fraternize with the bereaved Nke-ee family.

Speaking with pressmen at the occasion, Chief Lulu-Briggs described the funeral event as one that arouses mixed feelings of sadness and joy.

He said: “As a man who clocked 96 years of age in a world of so much uncertainty, I have no doubt in me that Chief Anson Nke-ee lived a good life. However, his departure to eternity has created a vacuum that will always be felt by his entire family; so, he will always be missed, and it is on this note that we decided to come and comfort our brother, Hon. Friday Nubari Nke-ee and his family.”

He thanked the people of Okwale for the wonderful reception accorded him and his entourage to the event, and prayed for God to turn the family’s grief to joy, and bless them abundantly.

On arriving Port Harcourt from Ogoni, Chief Lulu-Briggs also took time to celebrate with the family of Sokonte Davies on the occasion of their daughter's marital journey. At  the wedding reception of Mr Obinna Kanu and Lady Odima-a Winston Dagogo, Chief Lulu Briggs expressed his delight over the successful nuptial ceremony and shared in the joy of the family. Once more, he wished the newly wedded a marital union full of God's blessings.

Help! Lagos State govt agents want to demolish our houses and take over our land


Right now, there is considerable anxiety among more than 700owners of various degrees of plots of land at Alabeko Estate, behind Lbs Ogombo, Ajah, Lagos State.

The legitimate property owners are worried over moves by some land grabbers suspected to be agents of the Lagos State government to demolish their buildings and take over their plots of land.

It was gathered that the land were duly bought by them from the ‘Omonile’ who are the indigenous owners of the parcels of land with approved excision since 2014 by the former Lagos state, Mr Raji Fashola. They claimed that they have all paid for the land.

The land was exercised to them through the indigenous name ‘Alabeko’ when Mr Raji Fashola was Governor of Lagos State.

They regretted that, 4 years after, an Agent of the governmentconniving with Lekki Garden and Happy World Happy Homes in Lagos state were trying to demolish their buildings and take away their land.

In a letter of complaint they wrote to the Lagos State governor, His Excellency, Mr Akinwumi Ambode early in the year, the land owners said they were convinced that Ambodewas a kind-hearted man who would not allow some privileged officials in his government to undermine the rights of the common man.

The land owners, who protested sometime in 2016, said they noticed some underground activities around the estate and suspected that land grabbers operating with government machinery were at work to fleece them of their plots of land. They thus called on His Excellency Akinwumi Ambodeand the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to save them from the activities of the land speculators that had been using government cover to forcibly take over many landed properties in the state.

The landlords wish to state that the same case was since in court were they sue the principal actors which include, Lekki Gardens, Happy World Happy Home. The landlords also wishto petition the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, over the threat to take over their land.

The petition by the Alabeko Estate who are duly registered Community Development Association in Eti-Osa Local Government, was titled “Complaint against the Un-notified and Unlawful Forcible Invasion of the Land Acquired from the rightful owners”. 


They said they were shocked when on 22, August, 2017, they noticed that same land grabbers who claimed to be Agents of the Lagos state government had been to the land to paste demolition notices which they claimed had two days grace under the watch of some armed policemen.

The landlord said, following the development early this year, they wrote to the Lagos State Governor Ambode on July 10,2016 complaining about the incident on the land.

Despite their complaints, however, the land grabbers withsome people who claim to be the state Agent continued to harass and intimidate them on daily bases, threatening to uproot and destroy structures and foundations already erected by the Landlords on their respective plots. 


“We know as a matter of fact and law that once land is acquired by any citizen through lawful means with deeds of assignment from the original owners, such land cannot be taken away or revoked by the state government, especially when there are proofs of right to ownership. There are decisions of superior courts on this point. 

“We are always willing and able to develop our plots from the moment the appropriate authorities permit and direct the full development.

“Any document by any individual or group of entities that claims to have frozen the estate is just the imagination of some highly-placed persons.

They appealed to Ambode to ensure that the unlawful development on the land was discontinued immediately.

They said they would continue developing their plots, which were legitimately acquired by every landlord, with the issuance of Deed of Assignment; in addition, the blueprint for the estate included facilities like access roads, electricity and water are already established. All government Taxes and yearly CDA dues are duly met and paid by the estate since inception. “But as many years passed without these facilities, we, the landowners, took up the development of the entire place ourselves, hired the services of construction equipment operators to create access roads into our land to enable us have easy development,” they said. The CDA also came second from the entire estate in community Development Services in 2015- an credit duly recognised by the former governor, Mr Raji Fashola.


Some landlords that commenced building projects at the site had finished and some reached advanced stages but were jolted last month when some people started pasting demolition notice at their site; the men threatening this demolition said they were acting on the instruction of the state government.


We are appealing to the Lagos State government to intervene and get the land grabbers to leave our properties and land alone. People have already spent their life fortune and fully built their house and others are already developing the estate. We don’t want further interference from anybody. We are capable of developing our plots. We know that we cannot fight government, or the rich deep pocket land grabbers but government should protect us as citizens and do the right thing. We shall take every legitimate step possible to get justice.

Indeed, it is the joy of every woman to have a companion and enjoy her companionship till old age and not to be a widow at an early stage but you know, life is full with an unexpected events that he gives each an every one of us but how we handle the challenges of life defines how strong we are. Widows are seen as evil women in some part of the world, they are stigmatized, tagged all manner of names and treated with no respect in the society and what not, but today, I am happy that a day has been set aside to celebrate widows specially world wide. A lot of you might think I am a widow.
But sorry to disappoint you, I am a single girl who advocates for the widows to be accepted and treated equally like every other women in the society. Queen Cynthia Adinmah has already carved an enviable image for herself while in office by single-handedly financing some of these projects to fruition in order to add colour to her birthday party as her tradition. Queen Cynthia Adinmah 2017 birthday has been designed not to fall short of her already well-carved national image of excellence even while out of office.
A medical team led by two Doctors stormed Karmajiji Community on Saturday 29th April, 2017 where a handsome number of physically challenged persons are resident in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja for various degrees of medical treatments. These medical personnel administered free medical services ranging from malaria tests, anti malaria drugs , distribution of mosquito treated nets to each family of the less privileged and the physically challenged for free to celebrate her this year's birthday.
This is a very rare gem and personality in the Nigerian society of today where young people are all scouting for quick wealth and fortunes but this immediate past Face of Independence Nigeria would not relent in putting succour on d faces of the 'havenots' in the society of her time.
Our profound gratitude goes to organisers of face of Independence for fishing out the likes of Queen Cynthia Adinmah who did most charity works without even a support during her tenure of office. Queen, you are still interested in serving the people long after your completion of tenure of office. Happy birthday to you and many happy returns our national damsel.

2. Graphic designer

Design or create graphics to meet specific needs such as catalogue, newsletter, website, fliers, posters etc.

Job Description:

Create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos and Internet websites.
Use computer software to generate new images.
Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with supervisors and making necessary changes.
Upload designs to relevant platforms including websites and content management systems.

3. Motion graphics/3D Animations
Job Summary

Motion Graphics can be the flair that adds a professional polish to a finished brand film or can be used to craft a video from the ground up

Responsibilities:

Producing motion graphic and 3D content
Where applicable, producing motion graphics and 3D content from concept to delivery
Communicating with clients, where applicable, regarding the production and delivery of content
Working on multiple projects concurrently, balancing time constraints whilst maintaining quality
Encoding, converting and editing videos and graphical sequences
Producing DVD interfaces from either scratch or following a design
Keeping abreast of new technologies and techniques to deliver cutting edge work
Understanding brands and producing work of a suitable style

Skiills:

Strong Adobe After Effects skills, ideally with demonstrable experience in motion graphics

4. Creative Video Editor

Job Summary

Edit video based on template or script provided
Review edited video content from beginning to end to ensure smooth and cohesive final production
Project management: maintain quality and continuity of multiple projects that require your involvement from start to finish
Establish and maintain daily workflow: Because video editors are often involved in the pre-production and production processes, and work on more than project at a time, it is imperative that they establish and stick to a process that assigns what tasks to be done and by whom and by what pre-determined deadline
Mastery of computer programs, hardware apparatus, etc. like Avid’s Media Composer, Express DV and Express Pro, Adobe’s Creative Suite (on PC and Mac).

2 to 4 years of video editing experience or demonstrable experience assisting a video editor
Understanding of production workflow structure
