I was actually thinking this way before I got into the game proper.
It is not all about doing something crazy and stunning, you can do it because it's your creation, your imagination but when you are working for someone, especially, on a script written by someone, produced by another, directed by another you'll find that it is not all about what you think it is.
I edit Nollywood movies, I by virtue of grace and experience have edited blockbusters showing on Iroko tv, Africa magic, cinemas and rest. Frankly speaking before I got to the position I am, I used to over believe myself, that I will get into the industry and make a drastic change. I will turn things around, I will bring up concepts and give the old guys a chase, but reaching there it turned out that I must do it their way or remain where I was. It's either you are doing it their way or you are nowhere at all, never you think you can just come and displace people who have been there long before you birth the desire to join.
You can make impact and introduce your ideas but it has to take you time, you may think you can achieve that with your money bit many have come with their millions and gone AWOL with empty pockets. You need intelligence to sustain and survive.
In all, the guy tried in the video but he needs to work hard, what he did is what any beginner can do. Gun battle and mussle flare is nothing when it comes to filmmaking.
This flick can not be rated as a short film, the only thing that will make filmmakers appreciate this is the effort he put in making it as a beginner else nothing special and technical in what I saw in the video.
This is my honest opinion.
This is your perception bro... There people out dr dah will revolutionalize Nollywood, and I'm one of them.. U can mark my word... and please check out my channel there's no limit to what I can do... Thanks for the comment tho
uuzba: Nollywood does not waste time on movies that they are not likely to sell to the masses. They act films to sell and get back their money fast.
If they put up this film for sale (market), only a few youth here (who don't even have money) will watch it free (without buying the CD). The rest of Nigerias will watch nyash film (the type that already makes money for nollywood).
craves: go and do your own and jump fro sky scrapper. does it look like he shot it in America. he did it in a regular Nigerian environment/compound (which to me is the beauty of it all), and it is not out of place to see gee pee thank. the video is raw and natural, thumbs up to the guy
Hahahaha! This comment got me laughing ehn.. Thanks alot, really appreciate
ironheart: Bro keep it up. This is the first nigerian clip i failed to predict the end. I have subscribed to your channel already. Please do your thing n do not let anyone force you to copy. I am impressed
Notmyproblem: Nice work but you still have a lot to do. The blood splash is just too much, it does not really work that way you need to tone it done. Secondly try something in this direction when you shot and missed i thought it should hit the wall or the car you ducked behind, you need to let your viewer see how the bullet chips the wall/car that will make it look more realistic.
I will stop here for now. When you make those improvement post again and we shall be here to give you constructive criticism.
Okay... Please watch PAYBACK on my channel it has all d hits and all...
Originalsly: Hey!...rule #1 to make it to the top...never blow your own horn . ...is not for you to say Nollywood needs you...nor for you to say the story is crazy....let others be the judge.
Yes boss.. But I judged from the numerous positive reviews I got... Lemme send d link here
