Now Speaking of Jobs....Hmmmmm i really can't give definite answer because...well We exist in country called naija...lol However I think the emphasis now is on IS Security not necessarily IT Audit...there are more IT Security Jobs than IS Audit Jobs both in Naija and Worldwide.....Good News...Most OF the IS Security Jobs Consider CISA as a Required certificate ....probably Second to CISSP in that regard.. I think its worth more outside the Country than in the country IMHO.. ![]() |
soho2911:Also i should Add that you could work around the $760 cost sometimes because ISACA gives 1 and a half year memberships sometimes during the last quarter of the year....so if you know u r gonna write it in December u cd just wait till June and pay half year membership..... or you pay in the last quarter and it lasts till the next year giving you extra time to either take another exam or take the exam again ............just incase |
First Let engrrichie92:CISA is One out of Four .....or Five (now) certificates by ISACA which is body that deals with Information Systems Control ..the Certs are: 1. CISA.....Certified Information System Auditor.....for IT Auditors...........job = IT Auditor 2. CISM ....Certified Information Security Manager ......for Information security .........Job = Information security officer/Manager 3. CRISC ......Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control....... For Risk Management.......Job = Risk Officer/Manager 4. CGEIT ......Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT.............. For IT Governance/ MGMNT........Job = IT Manager/ CIO Next lets Treat this Cost thingy ...lol ![]() COST as at last diet is 760$ for Non Members & $575 for members ..(This is for CISA) Training Can be anywhere from N4k (online) to N80,000(offline) to N160,000(offline) to 1500$( online...that i know off) And u r usually given the books neecessary to pass...these are 1. the review manual( which you can buy separately and read if you are bonafide jackito...! )2. Bank of questions....( which you must go through ...or else.....owo will surely wo gbo...!) |
Hi , Are you good?....@Skotem, have you taken the exam now?? |
Hi, all for those that did and passed kindly share your experience.......Did mine in June/ July .....and did it after attending Rhytex.... i think they were cool...but they tool too long to cover the whole material but all in all ..............cool... I personally would recommend taking the class first then going thru the Manual at least twice....after that questions.......... questions.............. questions...!! The Questions help to adjust your thinking....Makes it risk based and Risk based thinking is basically 65% of the whole IT Auditing and hence it forms the basis of the Exam itself .... That being said...next step after passing the exam? 1. Join your local ISACA Branch ..Lagos & Abuja i think are quite strong... 2. Join your local ISACA branch oooo..! i almost forgot the most important next step after passing the exam....Join your local ISACA branch why? well i assume you want to get a job as an auditor or in IS Security ( CISM, CISSP etc) most organisations simply send their request for a new IT Auditor to the ISACA branch.. Also beyond the job thingy you need the CPE's and they sometimes organize Meetups, lectures with the " big boys" in the industry...and you could learn some small stuff at these meetings....etc.... ------------------ Lastly ...ISACA itself organizes various online trainings and webinars for CPE's as well so watchout on your ISACA page |
