Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra state has revealed an ongoing crackdown on “fake pastors” who exploit the vulnerable by preaching a gospel of “salvation without the cross.

The governor who revealed this when he spoke at an event in Awka, that several of them are already in custody and confessing.

Earlier in may 3rd , a popular Bishop and founder of Chapel of Faith bible Assembly International was allegedly arrested by Udogachi Security outfit.

The development sparked reaction from social media users who queried the rational behind the arrest while some supported the move saying some of the clergymen were no longer preaching salvation.

The Governor called on religious leaders to embody the courage required for societal transformation, insisting that governance and the church must prioritise the right path for societal development

Governor Soludo specifically highlighted the success of the Anambra Burial Law, noting that by eliminating expensive pomp and pageantry display, the state is ensuring a “befitting living and decent burial” for its citizens.

According to him, the state has commenced an ongoing crackdown on fake pastors who exploit the vulnerable by preaching gospel of ‘salvation without the cross’.

The Governor confirmed that several of the pastors are already in custody and confessing, noting that a new Anambra is in the offing, which must be clean and clear of such deception.

He said the present administration is reinforcing the church’s teaching that hard work pays and not the preaching of easy wealth. other way round.
