A South African white farmer Identified as Stefan Smith whose historic winelands property came to symbolise South Africa’s fraught land conflict has been shot dead by masked men [gunmen].

Four gunmen stormed into the homestead on Stefan Smit’s wine estate and killed him whilr eating dinner with his wife and a friend. The gang stole valuables and fled. His wife and a female guest were tied up but were otherwise unharmed, local media said.
