page9:
The core problem with nigerians is lack of creativity.

Most people are yet to wake up to the reality that certificates is no longer an automatic meal ticket.

I see BSc graduates who complain of joblessness still going further to acquire the different masters degrees.

There are several of them roaming our streets and they have not thought it wise to change strategy.

While we were in secondary school, some of us saw beyond and took several apprenticeship program in our vicinity.
I can sew, I can barb, I did electrical installation before I went for my OND in electrical and electronics, then I ended up in OAU to study economics because banking was the in thing in the 90s then.

When I graduated in 1996 and while waiting for job, I went to Aluminium village in Dopemu to learn Modern aluminum frames for windows, doors etc making which was and is still profitable work to do.

A single contract can turn you to a legit millionaire.

After working in a computer firm for a while, I got tired and I started my own business.

But being the boss, I realise I have enough free time, I then enrolled in Automedics (Agidingbli) to learn about automobile as a technician even though I was already a master degree holder.

Now to the real issue here,

Most of our nigerian graduates miss the point in the first instance, MTN Knows that we have far more jobless graduates who will work for nothing just because they can't think out of the box.

Our fresh graduates look down on acquiring skills, thinking all that matter is getting the certificates, you all the need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Those days are gone, it is global, even in dubai, those who have skills are making waves withing short time.

@OP and others in similar situation, try learn a relevant skill or two, you will be suprised at how profitable those skills will look at with disdain can fetch you with ease.

Being graduates, you will spend less time in learning the skill, you can sign up for crashed course for just three months practicals as an automobile technician, you can focus on car air conditioning if you don't like grease, you can learn car upholstery, you can learn about Car electricals & wiring etc the list goes on.

Can you barb, if not why don't you learn that and set up in your area, with a small investment in battery and inverter, you can do away with generator, you can also go to Dopemu too to learn about Aluminium frames, doors and windows. No one is using louvres window anymore, the demand for Aluminium frames is not slowing down anytime soon.

Any aspect of building constuction requiring some skills, like draftman, site supervisor, bore hole drilling, interior layout and designs etc can be learnt.

House Air conditioning , fridge and deep freezer repairs etc can be learnt.

The truth is, an average automobile technician " mechanics" makes so much money but perhaps due to lack of education and wasteful spending, we rarely see a good account of jobs in their lives. But they mostly spend their money on women, drinks etc. Visit any mechanic garage and you will always see a beer parlour close by.

Now, imagine a sensible graduate with good packaging and presentation. You will be able to charge better and convince the customers easier and command greater respect and patronage provided you are sincere in your dealings.

Finally, the future is in your ability to solve other people's problem, and they will gladly give you their money.

But who still need your certificates?

If everyone else think like you, hoping on their certificates to provide the job, where will you apply today?

We all should think of creating employment for others rather than wanting it the easy way out.

Dangote could have been somewhere in Kano as civil servant but he choose to start a business and the rest is history now.

Most of the skills mentioned above are in very high demand and it will cost you next to nothing to acquire the skills compare to the stress of university education, if only you can come down from your mentality of seeing handwork with disdain.

Guess what? This skills are more of services, you don't need much money to set up, in fact, you will be paid upfront.

For Aluminium frames, you get paid for materials and part workmanship before you lift a finger. For others, you are paid for faulty parts where you have already added a reasonable margin.

So, you all should think about it.

These services can be established in any of the 36 states and Abuja,

So, what are you waiting for?

My message here is for those who can see far ahead, Nigeria is not about to get better anytime soon, people will need these services regardless of the economic situation.

You can continue to blame Buhari for all your woes but while you are complaining, others are smiling, it is all about your choice

Good luck
informative stuff u got here.

Vanguard News Nigeria http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/orientation-exercise-nysc-denies-postponment-stream-2-2016-batch/

By Caleb Ayansina
ABUJA - The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Wednesday, denied a rumour peddling through the social media that it had cut short the ongoing orientation exercise for the 2016 Batch 'A' by shifting the stream two till the end of the year, due to scarcity of fund.
The NYSC Director of Press and Public Relation, Mrs Abosede Aderibigbe debunked the rumours in an exclusive phone interview with Vanguard in Abuja.
Aderibigbe described the report as unfounded and a clear misrepresentation of the truth, spreading around by the enemies of the scheme.
According to her, the exercise is on course as scheduled by the scheme, urging the general public to disregarded the report.
"It is not true, we have not postponed the stream 2 till the end of this year as speculated. The scheme is on course. People should disregard the report," she clarified.
Aderibigbe called on the prospective and serving corps members not take information as regards to the scheme's activities from the social media.

Here's something to feed our minds this morning.

#Copied#

1. Make friends with successful people and occasionally buy them gift and surprise them with lunch because successful people always give and hardly get, so when you give them, they value the gift a lot.

2. Get a mentor and follow his instructions and respect the relationship. Never beg your mentor for money or disrespect his or her privacy.

3. Make new positive friends as often as possible and ensure you keep the communication line open. Create a network of friends and not just connections.

5. Show kindness to everyone. Some small boys today will be big boys tomorrow. The biggest dog in the neighborhood was once a puppy. And keep the information/secret to yourself.

6. Always plan ahead and be proactive. He that plans the future work less in the future.

7. Listen to speeches and messages from great teachers. Both religious and educational.

8. Attend seminars and training on any area you need to improve yourself. Train the trainer, personal development, public speaking, sales etc.

9. Have the habit of keeping a pen and a writing pad handy because ideas come in the form of flashes. The smallest pen is bigger and better than the biggest brain.

10. Make sure at every point in time you are reading a book. If you spend 20 minutes reading daily, for 52 weeks you would have consumed 1,000,000 words.

11.Stay away from television as much as possible. You can watch educational channels. Men with big TV sits in front of them to watch men with big library.

12 Put control over your mouth, never say evil of any man, what you are not certain of should not be said. Say good of all men.

13. Always show appreciation for any good deed you received.

14. Always help someone in need.

15. Live a debt free life. What you can’t pay cash for is not your size.

16. Give out loans that you can part with as gift, so that you don’t destroy your business and relationship.

17.Create multiple source of income.

18. Save at least 10 percent of your income.

19. Invest a portion of your income. And be patient to see it grow. If what you have in your hands is not good to be called a harvest then it’s a seed, sow it.

20. Keep a good financial record of all income and expenses, so you won’t ask later “where did my money go”

21. Be in involve in community service. Control traffic, free lesson class for students etc.

22. Keep getting better on your daily goals and dream, develop yourself on them and make sure you get to the top 10 % of your industry.

23. Make sure you engage in exercise. It keeps your brain alert and your body fit to enjoy your success.

Yes the above is true for When NYSC mobilization used to be Batch A, B and C due to

1. Security challenges

2. Maximum carrying capacity of the most populated STATES varies from one another, hence the arrangement for second round to accomondate the extra CORPS MEMBERS

whereas,

When NYSC mobilization turned to Batch A and B only beginning with 2015, then

1. The expansion of the States for STREAM II became imminent in order to accommodate the Shortfall in the total population of CORPS MEMBERS created by the technical wiping out of Batch C

2. Hence the reason for the almost 30 states hosting STREAM II for the 2015 BATCH A and B as previously stated by logodwhiz-Our Golden City President
