The awards show, which is known as culture's biggest night and is celebrating its 25th anniversary, aired live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, June 9.

Kendrick Lamar led this year's nominations with 10, followed by Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla, each of whom earned six.


However, Kendrick Lamar was the biggest winner of the awards, carting home the best male hip hop artist award, best album of the year as well as the video of the year award for “Not Like Us."

Nigerian Ayra Star won Best International Act, beating other nominees like Rema and Tyla.
