Car Talk / Re: I Have Been Duped by suegbe: 2:13pm On Mar 29, 2010
The headline was quite misleading and totally wrong. Going by your explanation, you were not duped as you rightly got the car as bargained. You should have done a proper check before making final purchase and possibly got a trusted professional to assess the car.

In anything mechanical/electronic, any thing can happen even if you bought it newly talkless of when you bought a 11 year old used car. THe problem could be a matter of handling/maintenance on your part because you have used the car for about 6 months before you discovered the problem, Anything could have happenned, wrong parts/accessories, engine oil, inefficiency on the part of your mechanic etc.

Nonetheless, i feel you cos i've had a similar experience in the past. i bought a Maxima car and used it for about 3 months before deciding to take it for servicing though the ''Service Required'' was not on. And that was it!. grin. Mr Mechanic had a problem removing the oil filter, he called Mr Welder to assist in firing it. At the end of the day, the brain box was damaged since battery head was not removed and right there and then, the never ending problems with brain box started and till i sold the car about 6 months later, it never fully recovered. It was painful because the car was in perfect condition before i thought i should service it.

So Bros, sorry about this
Politics / Re: How Much Can You Sacrifice For Nigeria? by suegbe: 2:10pm On Mar 24, 2010
How much has Nigeria sacrificed for me?. When JFK admonished Americans to ''THink not what your country can do for you but think what you can do for your country'' it was clear to all Americans that what your country should do for you is GIVEN, must be done and are being done. It was all about responsible governance/government.

Government/governed are like father and child. A responsible father has some inviolable responsibilities towards the child. It is given, it is a number of musts and such father will have moral/spiritual right to demand for payback from such child moreover, in most cases, that child will assume the responsibility of giving back naturally without being prompted. He would be willing to give all, to even die for the father.

So let's ask Mr Nigeria, how much have you given to your children, how responsible have you been, have you ever met up with your basic responsilities?

I am of the firm opinion that Nigeria's problem is that of bad leadership pure and simple. An ordinary Nigerian is very hardworking, entreprising and faithful. With fairly good and purposeful leadership Nigeria will go places.

Give Nigerians the basics - electricity, potable water, good roads, education, security etc and see what will happen.

Take Lagos for example, the governor has been able to prove it to all Nigerians that purposeful, honest, committed governance was still possible afterall. I am not a politician and i'm not sympathetic to any political party but i can tell you categorically and with pride that i can DIE for the Lagos of Governor Fashola.

I am also of the strong conviction that rid Nigeria of the comedians and jokers occupying government houses from Aso Rock to others across the states, replace them with people of about same integrity, passion and purpose as Babatunde Fashola of Lagos and in six months, Nigerians would naturally be willing to die for Nigeria.

Right now, as for me and my house, God forbid bad thing  o, we no go fit die for Nigeria o, CHIKENA
