This is how Oil pump fails, when you use a higher viscosity grade oil. The bores of the oil path are streamlined to take certain weight ,puting overweight oils puts a strain on the Oil pump which will fail eventually, it might take 10 years but it will happen. It wil create unnecessary pressure and your seals will fail. As you know now the pressure is already causing Oil and water to mix, hats one symptom of using wrong weight. If you are mechanically clued up you know if your oil pump fails in motion you def need a new Engine.

Nor saying you are wrong, I experienced the same thing until my mechanic had to revert to the oil I was using. The mistake I made them was that I didn't ask the former owner the engine oil he was using to service the car, but lots of people here then suggested the engine oil i uses then because of the high mileage.

Thanks for this key information. I avoid roadside mechanics for servicing because of this. I expect that Total servicing in Total filling stations will know and that is why I have been doing it there for more than 10years. I will adjust appropriately during the next service or do you suggest I drain out the present oil and switch to the 5W30 immediately?.

Stick to what you are using since it is working for you. You will eventually kill that engine if you keep changing the oil. Be guided.

The thing is funny. Never had such issue before for the more than 10years i have been using the car. The car was bought brand new then. So i have been very meticulous in the servicing. I even traveled with it for Xmas from Lagos to Edo North without issues. It just started middle of January.

Btw, what was the final diagnose of your own and how was it fixed?.

Aside the areas the other guy mentioned above, the sump was opened to clear the sludge, i changed my radiator to a brand new one and voila no issue again.

Well, i read a lot on it as i always do my service and information was that it can be tricky sometimes and not necessary an oil issue. The car moves very well and does not even make any sound. It only begins to show when iam in traffic for a long period and the temperature gets to middle. once i begin to drive and the temperature gauge drops, it disappears. Btw, i do not use roadside oil to service as i service from the filling station of one of the major marketers. My alarm started triggering when it started occurring during traffic.
