I can't even identify the weapon. Here's a closer look.
I think it's a upgraded AK with all wooden parts replaced with polymer parts. I spot also a polymer magazine. All in all it differs much from the Beryl, any new build AK should have a upper receiver with a rail.

I also find it puzzling that South-Africa is rated above Nigeria. undecided undecided

Any ranking that puts South-Africa above Nigeria is not credible.

No pun intended to my South-African friends.

I also think rankings should take into account each individual nation's capability to deal with each nation's current threats.
Your sarcasm make me hurt! undecided

Watch this video, from 27 - 29 minutes. It's a French language documentary. This was were i saw the landing.

Great video. The French really took the risk to push north for a deceive strike towards Gao with mainly light vehicles. They had to arrive before the enemy could size larger portions of the infrastructure there. Americans would never do so, they would wait for heavy support and better protected transports even it would take days.

I've warned before believing everything you see on cherry picked carefully edited yt vids! Can you say 0-V-E-R-A-T-E-D!! An uncle did a staff course in Paris in the mid 80s and his instructor was a Yugoslav ex FFL officer why freely admitted their training, equipment and doctrine were crap-in his own words due to the fact the FFL was always a an expendable merc colonial type police force of non Frenchmen .
Well I can't verify any of your sources, who of is really knows about the qualities and inadequaties of the FFL - but I acknowledge it. Actually I just posted the video for ur e-n-t-e-r-t-a-i-n-m-e-n-t. wink And of course the FFL SF Battalion is not known among the best in the western (NATO) Armies - but their equipment and tactics still look fine. By reading the statements about the officers from the Reddit source I judt learned that life in the FFL is not much different from the NA. tongue

2) I can state with good authority, the Nigerian Air Force would not be getting any JF-17's soon. Probably after year 2020, but not before then. During the just concluded Air Show in Abuja, the Nigerian Air Force commentator categorically stated the Nigerian Air Force would receive a total of 37 aircrafts from now till 2020. He mentioned the Air Crafts to be received, the JF-17 was not mentioned. Kindly watch the NTA news Anniversary show for proof.

cool The Nigerian Air Force will not get the JF-17. I don't see how the Air Force plans to acquire the JF-17.
Totally agree with your statements about the JF-17. I read in an article online where a further buy of 3 fairly used Super Tucanos from Embrea was mentioned by a official of the NAF in order to speed up the procurement. The JF-17 project named in the federal budget seems to be a placeholder like it was done with the MB339 for many years.

I also wouldn't read much into any statements from Pakistan, the has been not a single export recorded of the JF-17 so far. Anyway this platform it self seems to be obvious for many reasons, although the two-seater block II offers some potential.

It is understood that under the current budget we can only afford something like a L-39NG/CW upgrade to stay in the business. But it is clear that NAF will need a capable Lead-In trainer platform to proceed. In this regard I look at the L159 Hawk Mk 200, Yak 130. And heavier jets like F/A-50 and FTC-2000G.

RIP. The fact that some eyewitnesses report that the parachute of one pilot did not open is horrific. Chinese engineering at its best, again!

The last of the FT-7NI two-seater is down now and it is known that this model is not in production anymore. This could mean the end to the F7 era in the NAF. The aqusition of the F7 was an unlucky decision by the NAF, we should have better invested in Trainer Aircraft with modern avionics like Hawk or L-159 and then move on to advanced Figher-Jets. Resulting in a dead-end-failture we might be pushed back to square-one again. At least the A-29 Tucanos are on the horizont for the NAF to provide a solid layer for flight-training and strike missions.
