Laura Haigh and partner Dean Evans set up the monitor for their son Sebastian so they could ensure he didn't climb out of his cot

Laura and Dean had hoped the image was a teddy bear
A mum claims she spotted a 'ghost baby' climbing into the cot of her 18-month-old son and lying next to him on a baby monitor.

Laura Haigh and partner Dean Evans set up the monitor after their son Sebastian Evans tried to climb out of his cot.

But the 39-year-old mum-of-four said when they checked the monitor they were horrified to spot a 'ghost baby' sleeping next to their tiny son .

Laura said she also saw the chilling figure appear to wave at things in Sebastian's room at their home in Plymouth, Devon.

Boat builder Dean, 42, rushed upstairs hoping to find a teddy bear next to Sebastian but found the tot sleeping alone – while the shape remained on the monitor and even moved positions.

Laura said: "When I noticed this face appear in the corner of his cot I got my sister to look on Skype and there was nothing there at all.

"Sometimes he brings a teddy to bed with him so at first I thought it could be that, but this just looks weird.

"Dean said straight away, 'it will be just a teddy' and went straight upstairs. However he was a little bit gobsmacked that there was nothing there but it was still appearing on the monitor. He was a bit spooked as he doesn't believe in that kind of thing and just can't explain it.

"He usually says 'don't be silly' about anything like this. This has opened his mind a little but he doesn't like to talk about it much. He just kept asking on the night 'has it gone yet?' as he was a bit freaked out.

A shape hovers over the cot (Photo: Mercury Press and Media Ltd)
"I have checked out the camera and I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it.

"Friends think it's really creepy. Whatever it was stayed in the cot until 1.30am and disappeared when I went to feed him. But during the night it moved positions."

The 'haunted' road motorists are too afraid to drive down
Surprisingly Laura remains unfazed as she believes if whatever appeared on camera meant any harm then little Sebastian would have been upset.

She said she believes it meant no harm as Sebastian slept soundly – and she has even caught him waving at unseen things in the room.

However this is not the family's first paranormal experience. In fact, Laura claims she routinely hears noises in the house and sees pictures on the wall turned upside down.

Laura added: "Sebastian is fine. I think he can see whatever it was as he will sit in the cot and smile at nothing. Or he has stared in the corner and waved at something that isn't there.

A final year student of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) was recently caught after stealing N300,000 from a fruit seller’s account.

Cross River Watch disclosed that the young man who was identified as Emmanuel Dominic was arrested by the police officers in the state. After been tortured, he confessed to committing the crime with the help of one of his friends.

400 level UNICAL student Emmanuel Dominic

She said: “He patronizes me frequently, he usually relaxes with us. It all started with his frequent patronage and friendliness, sometimes he will be in possession of my phone in the name of collecting music at times movies, at times I do ask him to help charge my phone for me in that barbing salon (pointing at the barbers shop adjacent to her fruit stand) where we all do" she said. I saved that money for my school issues because I have finished since two years ago, I did my project and all that is left to do my clearance which includes my outstanding fees and is the major reason I am doing this business and saving that money in my UBA account. Recently my partner went to the bank to use the ATM to withdraw some money to solve an urgent issue and upon reaching there the machine kept telling him insufficient funds.”

Still narrating how Dominic made away with her money, she said: “We went to the bank (UBA Calabar road branch, the one opposite Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC) for enquiry and discovered that severally recharge cards ranging from 5000 plus and at times transfer have been done from my account to another using my phone. They advised us to keep cool not to scare the person and think carefully. When the records were shown to me and I thought over it and then discovered that Dominic is the one behind it, some days he usually pass and would pretend not to notice us. One day I ran after him and held his shirt asking him why he did what he did to me. He denied but because of the drama people came and at the end to prove his innocence he went to the bank with us and eventually it was his number that appeared in the many recharge card purchase and his friend’s account number that he does transfer my money to. At the end he opened up and told us that he used the money to solve some problems.

While still at the bank, upon Dominic’s confession, his mother fainted. She later returned a hundred thousand Naira and wrote undertaken to pay back the remaining sum in three installments beginning from 19th June, 2017. The account Dominic usually transfer the money to belongs to one of his course mate, Otu whom our sources disclosed that the suspect, who is the only son of his mother, usually tells that his uncle is sending money through his account and when it drops, Otu does the withdrawal and hands over but when Dominic was caught, he sent Otu a text saying he shouldn’t go to his bank that all the money he’s been withdrawing for him is stolen.”

Her back ached as she felt water slide down her legs.

Disturbing sounds of agony were all she could make as she moved from contraction to contraction like the worse menstrual cramp ever she could no more feel her legs.

Everytime she has a contraction, her lower back would slowly begin to sieze up like a bad intention.

It felt like the muscles inside were slowly twisting harder nd harder until unbearable.

And slowly, it subsides unlike what she read in books, this was much more painful she fought the pain, worse it became she surrendered, it lessened.

she felt her insides twisted, pulled & squeezed like getting caught at the undertow of a wave the waves of varying intensity.

The middle contraction was hell
she felt her soul leave her body she tried a means of distraction by a swift imagination of a waterfall.

Damn! back to reality she was, as this means of pain relief proved floppy.

She almost opted for an epidural.
Was she ready for this? one question she couldnt answer
Push! push! the nurse echoed.

is this lady insane? she thought for a while.

After nine months that creature had to be brought out, that have been nurtured.

You can do it was all the look on her husband face said, his smile.
Pushing seemed impossible as the whole of her pelvis felt it was made of breakable glass.

The vaginal pressure, similar to a bowel movement. She gave the first push, like poo she had to let it out.

Arrrh she felt it was gon be over soon as she could feel her angel swimming out, faced down
she gave the second time all her strength in a thrust!

Its a girl...the nurse announced...
the labour room filled with a baby's welcome cry.

"She's worth it" was what went through her mind when she looked at her littlon..Joy illuminated.

The pain was dere still, but wasnt felt.

She had never seen anything as beautiful.

CrimeTwo Nigerian Women Convicted In The UK Of Scamming 7 Men Out Of Over £100k In On by Surfbaze(op): 11:33pm On Jun 14, 2017

Two Nigerian women have been convicted of being part of a romance fraud which tricked seven men into handing over more than £100,000.
Grace Akintaro, 24, of Pettacre Close, SE28 pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud by false representation at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday, 12 June.
At the same hearing, Victoria Nwogu, 22, of Piedmont Road, SE18 pleaded guilty to a charge of acquiring criminal property (money laundering). The women will both be sentenced at the same court on Tuesday, 20 June.

Officers from the Met's Fraud and Linked Crime Online (FALCON) began an investigation in December 2014 following a referral from Action Fraud.
Four men, living in different areas of the UK, had contacted Action Fraud to report the fact they were victims of a romance fraud scam.
A further three victims were later identified as a result of the Met's investigation.
The men had all been using the Match dating website and believed they had struck up a relationship with a woman called Amanda Jenson.
After being asked if they could cover her travel costs to meet up, the men agreed to pay money directly into her bank account.
Various different excuses were then given to each man to explain why Amanda could not see them on the set date.
However, she would ask for more money and promise to meet up another time. None of the men ended up meeting Amanda, despite transferring thousands of pounds to her bank account.
Akintaro admitted she spoke to at least two of the victims on the phone pretending to be Amanda Jenson.
As well as travel costs, the men were also asked for other short term loans to pay for rent or other costs and would be given different bank account details they were told belonged to her mother or landlord.
Fake documents were used to provide evidence that Amanda Jenson was due to receive an inheritance from a relative and would then be able to pay the money back.
Met detectives carried out analysis of the bank statements related to the account numbers the
men had been asked to pay money in to and uncovered links to Akintaro and Nwogu.
One of the victims identified by Met officers had been tricked into handing over a total of more than £46,000.
Another victim of the fraud sent money from his wife's death in service insurance policy from her employer.
Others have lost proportions of their pension and another took out an equity release on his house.
In one case, a victim was told to go to a London airport to meet Amanda Jenson.
Whilst he was standing outside the arrivals lounge, he was sent pictures of himself from the phone number he had used to communicate with her.
The man was told Amanda Jenson could see him waiting but had been held up by customs officials and needed more money before she could be released. He refused to pay and went home.
All the men ceased contact with Amanda after it became apparent they would never meet her and were unlikely ever to receive their money back.
Most of the bank accounts involved in the fraud had an address of Pettacre Close, Woolwich, where Akintaro lived.
In total, Akintaro received £104,962.88 into accounts she directly controlled.
Analysis of Akintaro's mobile phone revealed a photo of Amanda Jenson used in the fraudulent profiles sent to the victims.
A car, which is owned and used by Grace Akintaro, was directly bought with funds from one of the victims. In total, Nwogu received £3,490 into accounts she directly controlled.
The money was sent to Akintaro and Nwogu during a period between August 2014 and December 2015.
The police investigation revealed no evidence of Amanda Jenson's existence, other than as a fake dating profile. The picture used on Match is believed to be of a woman who is entirely unaware of the fraud.
Akintaro was charged on 26 October 2016. Nwogu was charged the following day.
Detective Constable Mark Cresswell, of the Met's Fraud and Linked Crime Online (FALCON) unit, said:
"We managed to identify seven victims of this fraud but I suspect there are many more

A man from Taita Taveta County, Mombasa in Kenya has been arrested after he mercilessly assaulted his 67-year-old father to death for failing to pay his mother’s dowry.
According to Wundanyi OCPD, Benjamin Muhia, he told Nairobi News that the deceased, Wilmont Mwawasi, was beaten to death by his son after a short argument over unpaid dowry to his mother who died 12 year’s ago.
“We have arrested the suspect and we intend to arraign him in court after investigations are completed,” Mr. Muhia said.
The OCPD said the suspect killed his father using a hollow metal bar after he (father) failed to explain why he had not honoured their tradition even after pleading with the father several times to do so.
“From our investigations, we have found that the quarrels began when the suspect asked his father why he had not paid the dowry, but investigations are still ongoing to unearth more information,” he said
Mr. Muhia said the body of the father of seven was transported to Wesu Sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Investigating Officer Christopher Langat and Wundanyi DCIO Eunice Maina, who visited the crime scene, said the murder weapon has been recovered from the suspect.
“We have recovered the metal bar we suspect was used to commit the crime, but we are still looking for more details to determine the motive of the murder,” Inspector Langat said.
The Investigating officer said that preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect claimed that his father had brought bad omen to their family after failing to pay thier late mother's dowry.
“The family of the late mother had been putting pressure on the deceased to pay dowry, so when the son asked his deceased father about it, he (deceased) charged towards him (son) and all hell broke loose,” the officer said.
Mrs. Maina said that they found the deceased’s body lying in a pool of blood inside their house where the incident happened.
“The metal bar inflicted injuries on his hands meaning he was blocking himself from the beatings from his son. The blunt object can be said to have caused his death,” she said, adding that the recovered murder weapon will be subjected to ballistic analysis.
Ms. Salome Mshai, the deceased’s daughter, who witnessed the killing said the 67-year-old had started the quarrel.
“He came home drunk and when my brother asked him about the dowry, he charged towards him, slapped and kicked him. I tried to separate them but my father insisted on disciplining him,” she said.
She said that it was after 30 minutes of physical fight that her father attacked his brother with the metal bar first but luckily for him, he was able to get hold of the weapon and repeatedly hit the deceased in the head.
“The suspect managed to snatch from my father the metal bar and hit him on the head repeatedly, he bled profusely and fell down,” she said.
According to her, their father was to blame for what had happened because he was the one who picked up a fight when he was softly asked what he was thinking about the dowry.

She said consequences of unpaid dowry had started manifesting in their family as his younger brothers were getting mad while some had their blessings blocked.
“In our tradition, failing to pay dowry has negative consequences. These are what we had started witnessing that forced my brother to approach him to address the issue,” she said.
The suspect is being held at Wundanyi Police Station.

A North Carolina charter school Math teacher, Erin McAuliffe, 25, was arrested last Thursday for allegedly having sex with three male students: two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old. The Rocky Mount Preparatory teacher was charged with "three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor".
Police officially launched an investigation into McAuliffe on May 5, when school officials reported alleged misconduct. The day before the report from officials, McAuliffe was fired from the charter school over the suspicions.
After detectives conducted numerous interviews with both students and staff members, a warrant for the teacher's arrest was issued, and she was arrested shortly thereafter.

It was then determined by police that McAuliffe's alleged sexual interactions with the three boys took place off school property.
The Rocky Mount Prep job was the first time McAuliffe worked as a teacher full-time, according to her Linkedin profile.
According to her resume, at Rocky Mount, McAuliffe taught math III, advanced functions and pre-calculus. She also offered “after-school tutoring to help struggling students improve their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.”
McAuliffe also worked to “develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications in student programs to increase student understanding.”
The school said Friday she was removed from the school on May 4 and fired on May 8, after school administrators learned about the accusations against her and reported them to police.
“We have been fully cooperative with local law enforcement during the course of their handling of this matter,” a statement from the school to WITN-TV said.
Her sister is also a teacher at Rocky Mount Prep.

McAuliffe is being held at Carteret County Jail on a $20,000 bond; her first court appearance was yesterday, June 12.

McAuliffe was hired at the prep school in August of 2016 and sacked in May 2017.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has reportedly traced a multi-billion naira property said to be owned by former First Lady, Patience Jonathan. The Nation reports the antigraft agency is currently investigating the property and may place it under Interim Asset Forfeiture.

The agency is said to also be investigating the relationship between Mrs. Jonathan and two companies being probed by detectives.

Also, three accounts and three more properties have been put under surveillance by the anti-graft commission in connection with the ongoing investigation of the ex-First Lady. The three accounts belong to Aribawa Aruera Research Foundation; Finchley Top Homes Limited and AM-PM Network Limited. The accounts were uncovered in the course of investigating Mrs Jonathan and Aribawa Aruera Research Foundation.

The anti-graft commission is suspecting a business relationship between Mrs. Jonathan and Finchley Top Homes Limited and AM-PM Network Limited. Preliminary investigation revealed that huge slush funds might have been laundered through the foundation and the two firms.

A report indicated that Aruera Foundation is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with RC No 22805. “Huge funds were suspected to have been laundered into the accounts of the above mentioned companies and properties worth billions of naira were allegedly acquired by ex-First Lady Patience Jonathan through the aforementioned companies. Detectives were able to track transactions through open source information from interbank settlement.

The ex-First Lady and five others are trustees of Aribawa Foundation. Intelligence from Abuja Geographical Information Service (AGIS) revealed that a multi-billion naira property, Plot No. 1758B06 in Mabushi Area, belongs to the foundation. The said property is not such that a state Permanent Secretary in person of Mrs. Patience Jonathan can afford.

The property should be marked as under investigation and interim forfeiture order be secured.” The ex-First Lady is being probed in connection with three other assets – Plot 96(DO5) in Karsana ; Plot 7109 (E18) in Wasa; and Plot 30 (DO3) in Idogwari. Besides, EFCC detectives have turned their searchlight on the ex-First Lady’s relationship with Finchley Top Homes Limited and AM-PM Network Limited. Another source added: “We have conducted searches at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on the two companies whose accounts were earlier frozen alongside that of the ex-First Lady over $5.8 million which was reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.

They were among the five companies and one Esther Oba said to be having a total sum of N7.4 billion in six banks.
