Thoughts on corrupt politicians & civil servants who send children abroad with looted funds meant to build roads, provide electricity, build schools and pay salaries. The percentage of foreign students sponsored with proceeds of corruption is significant.

We all went to secondary school and university with them and saw them buy cars, buy property and get extravagant allowances. And they all seem to be doing well in their careers getting into the top companies and holding top positions in major cities around the world. So the dividends did pay but at the expense of thousands if not millions of Nigerian citizens back home who paid the price in some cases fatally on pot hole ridden roads and through inadequate health facilities and hopes, dreams and destinies detroyed.

Should the sins of the father/mother be visited on the children.

Unfortunately karma always seem to come for their family members. If you take stolen money meant to build roads, hospitals and provide drugs for patients in the hospital and spend it on your family and sending your children abroad it has a way of bringing destruction to your family as that money is cursed.

I know two local government Chairmen one in Edo state and another in one of the eastern states who used to loot local government funds and lost family members suddenly. I went to school with both of them and they said it with their own mouth- their children are aware their parents loot as they witness in their house when money is shared during elections as in the case of the Edo state local government chairman or when workers come to protest in their house for their salaries to be paid as was the case in the one in the South Eastern state, who stated his father had to take his portion as well after the governor of the state deducted his portion of the local government fund.

The Local Government Chairman in Edo state son was caught by a stray bullet in Edo state when he went to a bar and cultists came and were shooting randomly he just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. And the one who sent his son to USA suddenly dropped and passed away and they were not able to even access his bank account according to what his brother stated.

I wonder if God visits the sins of the father on the children.
