eejo: Explain why Nigerians are easily divided along ethnic and religion line, kill each other, destroy things and see things from scarcity mind set while the country have abundance. Entry closes in one week and WINNER will be announced. The reason why Nigerians are easily divided along ethnic and religious lines are not so complex to explain... The reason is because there is no Unity and poverty is very high. We need true unity. When there is unity, there is cohesion and no violence persay. Nigeria is a diverse country manifested by culture, religion, ethnicity, language and even political setup. This is why it is easy to divide and instigate Nigerians into ethnic crisis, and religious crisis. Although we Nigerians loosely blame diversity for most crises in the country, the problem of poverty and lack of unity apparently accounts for the bulk of violence (whether ethnic or religious) due to such problems. This is also leads to a mentality that Nigeria is a country that has scarce resources. No! Nigeria does not have scarce resources, we live in a land of abundance. Nigeria is a rich country. We just don't have the right hands to manage the resources effectively yet. This is why the average Nigerian have a scarcity mind set. We are conditioned to believe there is not enough resources to go round by those at the high echlon due to high corruption and inaccurate data systems to transmit information of how our wealth should be equally distributed |
