@op. All u said is d reality. @ dat level, it is no longer just academic intelligence and creativity alone. It is more of politiks and boy-boy for ur supervisor or some influencial prof that wud fast-track ur bench time. So u can see some people use 3yr oders 11 yrs. D question I ask is what is d quality of d phD. No be by just journal or thesis. What is it dat in d next 10-25 after ur phd. U have perfected ur work and it is now internationally quoted. It is a commitment to reveal ,clarify or push d boundry of ur field. So why settle for less because. Dat is what Nija academic environs entail. The journey will be tough, lonely, money draining. But if done rightly. I beleive, I wont just have a phD. I sud be a Nija scholar @ par with any other phD nolder anywhere in d world....
