I also noticed there wasn't a huge difference between the normal cam and the gcam

Gcam consumes battery also so i I I I uninstalled it grin

Try to flash with the normal official miflash tools and do full flash/ bootloader lock

It depends on what you want to do with your phone.

I would personally go for a snapdragon 425 over any. Mtk65** processor.

Tecno will be nice for the first few weeks before a *hanger* is embedded in the phone

But the xiaomi will take you a long way.
