Thanks for the tips. I've rooted my phone downloaded a usb enabler app. I alsy downloaded a superSU and bestbug app. I got the prompt that the PC will recognise my device whenever I plug it into it. But I plugged it in and the computer still did not recognise the device. I restarted the device, unmounted and replaced the SD card, Reconnected the phone ti computer still NOTHING. Please is there anything else I can do?

Getting a new board often means that board is gotten from another phone. No one would sell his board if the phone hasn't got an issue. From experience those boards are often reconditioned and end up been a huge drain on battery.

The size you referenced (18.67mb) is just the installation file. After installation, it unloads itself and occupies more space.

In the Nigerian context, what's the 'implication' of altering IMEI? Next to none, if you ask me.

Have you tried other camera apps apart from stock? Use Camera Zoom Fx, let's see if your front camera still rotates.

Get a NIGERIAN used S4. Should be between 30 & 35.
Be extra careful, there are several clones of S4 in the market. Good luck.

People ask to alter their IMEI to blackberry's or other android device's just so they could:

About front camera. By pictures rotating, d'you mean they appear like you were in front of a mirror, or it turns upside down?

In most cases, it has to do with power saving. You probably have an app doing that.

There's no official Lollipop for s3, but there are loads of custom ROMs running OS 5.0 for s3.
Your best alternative is to get the ported official kitkat for s3

That's because the Lollipop around is for the international variant of S4, GT-I9500.

Unless Verizon releases Lollipop for your variant, nothing you can do but wait.

Nope , it doesn't on Samsung when you flash the official firmware via Odin , ( talking from experience ).

I flashed Lollipop on my s4 this week via Odin. It wiped the phone storage clean.

I've also flashed stock rom on my s3 in the past, via odin; phone got wiped.

Looks like it's rooted already. Confirm if you have an app named 'SuperSU' or 'Super User' on the device. If yes, then you're surely rooted

2. it won't wipe anything ( just make a backup just incase shit happens )

Flashing will surely wipe ALL data on phone memory. You're advised to back up your valuable data.

Certain custom ROMs come rooted but I don't think CMod is one of them.

Help yourself by downloading SuperSU zip and flash via recovery.
