Ablesam171: The bill would have make sense if we've strong institutions that can check the excesses of our leaders. My question is, how can you remove the immunity of a vice president and leave that of president? Did they not run for office with one ticket? This would give too much power to the president and a president can decide to do away with his vice/governor/deputy governor anytime he/she. We all know fully well how an average African leader can be power drunk. What we need is strong institutions that can make leaders account for their time in office and if they are found wanting, should pay for the crimes committed. Nigerian president power too much, we no need make dem to get more power pass dis one wey dem don get. mu.mu you know what we need nah him you no run for president odẹ́ over sabi too know |

Politics › Re: Nigeria Launches Probe Into Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan’s Participation At IPU by temielects(m): 2:08pm On Mar 16, 2025 |
Asonaijaaso: The way this issue is being handled is absurd. First off, it’s clear the government is more concerned about protecting its own interests than about tackling real problems. If the Nigerian intelligence agencies are truly incapable of protecting their own government protocols, then they need to be fired immediately. How could a woman like Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was suspended for raising valid concerns about misconduct, manage to attend an international meeting without the proper clearance? The fact that she was even able to address the IPU at all shows there’s a serious failure on the part of Nigeria’s leadership to manage basic internal processes.
Where was this investigation when accusations of sexual harassment against the Senate President surfaced? No investigation into those claims, but now the government is scrambling because a woman—who’s already facing political persecution—seated herself at an international forum to raise her concerns. This stinks of political games, not genuine national interest. The government needs to focus on the real issues—not harass those who dare speak out, especially when their rights have been violated.
If the Senate and intelligence agencies spent less time worrying about trivial matters and more time dealing with the real abuses happening under their watch, we might actually make some progress.
Apkabio said on the record(video), she is no longer a senator if she is on suspension. So did she attend the IPU as a private citizen. Or was Apkabio ignorant of what it means to be a suspended senator ? Or is the government going after a private citizen who is exercising her freedom of expression. Anyway you twist it. It will further incriminate Akapbio or it will incriminate the government.
People seem to forget that Senator Natasha Akpoti is not beneath anyone in the Red Chamber—she holds the exact same electoral mandate as Senate President Akpabio. They are both Senators, equal in status before the law and the people who elected them. Akpabio’s position is purely administrative; he moderates proceedings, not rules over elected voices. He is not the president of Kogi Central, and certainly not the political superior of Senator Natasha. Her seat was won fairly and reflects the voice of her constituency. Unless there is a new election, that mandate remains hers. Trying to muzzle or belittle her is not only unconstitutional—it is dangerous to democracy. She is not tarnishing her image by speaking; she is fulfilling her oath. The more they attempt to silence her, the louder her voice becomes. She is the people’s voice—and that voice does not need permission from Akpabio to thunder. this your lengthy write ups doesn't make you right, firstly you said she raised a valid claim, who validates her claim? You or one of yours sponsoring the downfall of another man. Secondly the question is how is she able to access the IPU without prior approval from the country designated delegates were supposed to represent before pushing her personal and emotional motion, think, like someone said this is political and Tasha fail to understand the implications of her actions |

mastermaestro: You think so? The police have gotten away with reckless, oppressive behaviour for so long because most citizens were largely uneducated concerning their basic rights and privileges. That's changing pretty fast. No one is stopping the police from working, but they must do so within the rule of law.
Breaking into people's houses should not be a sport. Police should only break in where there are legitimate concerns that there are ongoing plans by individuals inside such apartments to commit murder, kidnapping, terrorism and treason against the state. Or if wanted suspects have been reported to be housed in such a building. To break into a building on frivolous suspicion like, "They are doing Yahoo," is both dumb and potentially injurious on the part of the officers.
Have you ever been in a hotel where law enforcements invaded as though Shekau was presently lodged there? That's what a guest I checked into a hotel, who was visiting Nigeria for the first time after over a decade in Europe, encountered one of the nights. It was despicable. Why were they there? Suspicion of fraud going on. They were breaking down doors around 1AM in the middle of the night. Let me leave it there.
My point is that the police will not run far if they insist on retaing this worrisome tactic. Nigeria is in an age of enlightenment already. Maybe you don't know. No reasonable person supports crime. However the law enforcer must act in a manner that matches his noble designation. I see your point and it's a valid one you've made, I don't mean to argue, some of the Nigeria police are not worthy to be entrusted with justice and that's simply because they are the products of our environment, a typical Nigeria youth is radical and daring, back to the rule of law and it's applications, who among you netizens knows the nature of crime going on inside that building if not regular speculation around the web that Nigeria police are only going after internet fraudsters, if that is even true how about people deterring from crime no matter how little or less it is? |

PurityOrNothing: Purity or Nothing Global Movement DAILY PURITY DIGEST
Date: 26th January 2025
Topic: The Acceptable Form Of Sexual Pleasure
Scripture:
"Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man.” - Genesis 4:1 NIV
THE PURE WORD
God being the Creator of everything, including sex, has ordered that all manner of sexual activities must be between a husband and his wife in the safe confine of their marriage union, with no other party involved.
All forms of sexual pleasure must only be shared between married couples - a man and his wife. Anything else is sinful and dangerous - be it premarital sex, extramarital sex, pornography, masturbation, homosexuality, etc.
When you sin, you are insulting God - and attract punishments and bitter consequences. What you sow is what you reap. If you are disobedient to God, you will definitely walk into trouble. God knows everything (He is the wisest). If God asked us not to do something, it is for our own good.
Partner with God to tame and be in control of your healthy sexual urges, and you will live flourish in Him without measure.
Confession I acknowledge that sex is a sacred act, designed by God for divine purposes. By His grace, I will honor and uphold its sanctity. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
