Hmmm, are all of you guys gunning for Medicine cos you are gonna make good Physicians.

Your scores were impressive, I must say.

Dealing with basic ***Cardiology*** like no man's business. Kudos!.

Here is what lets do, we are gonna go through 5 questions which proved confusing/tough...It was on my part, sorry I twisted somethings here and there.

Ok,

....MCQ 7
Regurgitation, option B. Those Valves are referred to as Semi lunar valves. Since blood flows through the Veins at low pressure, there is a proclivity for a flow back of blood but with the valves present no back flow of blood is ensured.

This can also be witnessed in the heart of a frog whose right and left chambers are not totally separated from each other, a tendency for the blood to mix is present but the presence of ridges and valves prevents the occurence.

.....MCQ 8
A confusing one, the sequence of blood clotting.
The correct sequence is
Exposure of Platelets to air→thromboplastin/thrombokinase→prothrombin→thrombin→fibrinogen→fibrin(Insoluble), Option B.

An enzyme thrombokinase/thromboplastin converts Prothrombin to thrombin(enzyme also).

The crucial role of the enzyme thrombokinase/thromboplastin is seen in people suffering from the sex-linked disease Haemophilia, the inability to clot blood.

Haemophilia in this context should not be mistaken for inadequate Fe or K in the blood.

......MCQ 9
True your answer @OGOJNR, open circulatory system is found in insects.

But it is also found in Molluscs. I could have easily written Molluscs in the options but I cleverly wrote Archatina saginata a species of Snails which is under the Phylum Molluscs alongside the squid and Octopus.

Archatina archatina is also a species of snail.

The open spaces in which the blood fluid of insects bath their organs is known as the Haemocoel.

THIS FACT IS NOT WRITTEN IN TEXT BOOKS MOST OF THE TIME: That Annelids (although the excretory system is related to blood), Nematodes and Platyhelminthes, have their organs bathed in Coelomic fluid.

The most suitable answer here is Archatina saginata, Option B.

.....MCQ 11

Option B, the Liver.
The liver receives double portion of blood from the heart, via two sources viz:
A. The hepatic artery: This runs directly from the heart
B. The hepatic portal vein: This comes from the gut(especially the small intestine; duodenum and Jejunum and a little from the ileum).
A portal vein is a vein which passes through a tissue or an organ before getting to its destination.

....MCQ 12
Option D, Translocation this is the mass movement of organic products in the vessels of a plant.

Guttation is similar to Transpiration, but there is a nuance. In transpiration water escapes as vapour and it occurs in almost every plant while Guttation occurs predominantly in Tomatoes and sweet Potaetoes where water escape as droplets on the surface of the leaves.
------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the compliment @becborn, that was sweet of you.

Looking forward to Anatomy, Physiology and BioChemistry classes with you guys.

Yours, Opeyemi.
quite late to answer the questions...I must say that am always impressed with the way you post and answer questions here...Thank you

4. Let the distance from his starting point be x.
So sin 30/5= sin 120/x
x=5sin 120/sin 30.
X= 8.7km.
5. Using pythagoras rule
x^2= 12^2 + 5^2
x=13km. Which is the displacement. The total distance travelled is the sum of the distance he travelled in both directions which is 17km (12 + 5).
So difference is equal to -4km.
6. D
7. B. Vectors have both magnitue and direction and every watchamacallit in option b does.
8. Impulse = momentum change.
Ft= mv - mu.
I believe the answer is 20kgm/s but using the formula gives something diff. Please kindly do extensive explanation here.
9. Is definitely A.
10. Tough but i think i'm tougher.. Hehe
, F= ma right? No owo e so ke to ba n doubt. No hands up seems i can go on.
2000= 800 x a
a= 2.5m/s/s.
After the force was applied, the car moved with 2.5m/s/s before it completely stopped.
The distance it took the car to finally stop should be
uhm.. V^2= u^2 + 2as
20 x 20 =0 + 5s
S = 80m.
Apparently, option B is the correct answer.
RIP to the dog.

I can't remember the last time i read but the way things are(your questions pushing me), i'm sure it won't be long for me to re-marry my books.
For the record,we're divorced.
For the impulse

Ft=mv-mu
after hitting the wall the ball rebounded and moved in the opposite direction
Ft=mv-(-mu) the - sign was introduced cos of the opposite direction

hahahaha!....but you amazed me, you were so close, very very close; and I think that is very Laudable.

You will see how close you came before you can spell JACK ROBINSON...lols

I want to clarify something before delving any further,
for the general salt AaBb:
Ks ↔ [aA^b+]^a x [bB^a-]^b

Now to no 1....
PbI2↔ [Pb^2+] x [I^-1]
Ks↔ [Pb^2+] x [2I^-1]^2......(**)
Ks↔ [1.65 x 10^-5] x [2 x 1.65 x10^-5]^2
Ks↔ [1.65 x 10^-5] x [3.30 x 10^-5]^2
Ks↔ [1.65 x 10^-5] x [10.89 x 10^-10]
Ks= 17.96 x 10^-15
Ks= 1.796 x 10^-14

One might wonder where PrOton got the unit to his answer which is very correct, here is what he did:
Concentration is measured in Mol dm^-3 abi?

So putting Mol dm^3 in place of Pb and I2 in (**),
K= [mol dm^-3] x [mol dm^-3]^2
K= [mol dm^-3] x [mol^2 dm^-6]
K= mol^3 dm^-9

Therefore,
Ks= 1.796 x 10^-14 mol^3 dm^-9.

Cc PrOton, you didn't multiply your Iodine ion by 2

2. This is rather explicit needless to say
SrSo4↔ [Sr^2+] x [So4^2-]

If you follow the format of the general salt above AaBb, in this case nothing changes, ipso facto I mean you don't need to square or multiply any of them in the Brackets[].

So, Ks↔[Sr^2+] x [SO4^2-]
3.2 x 10^-8= [C] x [C]
C^2= 3.2 x 10^-7
C= √3.2 x 10^-7 mol^2 dm^-6
C= 1.79 x 10^-7 mol dm^-3

cc PrOton, your standard form notation was not same as above lolz.

Nevertheless, you guys have done well. Kudos to Mikechibuzor, thaotech, PrOton.

But PrOton,

"256y5= 3.2 x 10-7mol2dm-6
y5= 3.2 x 10-7/ 256
y = 5√1.25 x 10-9"....this is abracadabra take the 5th root of the unit and see what you get.

And that last fracas, you sef no be pikin again, let it go.

@thaotech, thanks for attempting the Physics question, you actually amazed me.

Solution to the Physics question.

i) for the 4kg mass moving downwards: 4g-T=4a..........equ 1
for the 3kg moving upwards: T-3g=3a.

After you do the simultaeneos abracadabra, your a=1.43m/s2(common acceleration)

ii) Their speed after 2 seconds
v=u + at
u= 0, body accelerating from rest
a=1.43m/s2
therefore. V=0 + 1.43x 2
V=2.9m/s

iii) The distance each travelled in two seconds:
S= ut + 1/2 at^2
S= 0 + 1/2 at^2
S= 1/2 x 1.43 x 2^2
S=1/2 x 1.43 x 4
S= 2.9m

Post Script: @Dapo777, your advice has been laudable and I really appreciate it. People are jacking, obviously...instilling fear with the words"ui will only pick the best, post ume is like a war" you use aint helping matters!
