Angry youths in Ekpoma, Edo State have attacked Fulani settlements in the town over numerous cases of kidnappings, which they accused the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, of inaction towards the issue.

Violence erupted yesterday, Saturday 10 January when the youths took to the streets to destroy properties belonging to Fulani people. In a video trending online, the youths are seen attacking a goat market where they descended on the goats, killed them and took them home to eat. In another video, the youths were seen bringing down the billboard of the state governor, Monday Okpebholo.

I don't think there is anything to investigate here. If the soldier claims to have been attacked by the boy, which is the highest he can claim, the best thing to do was to disarm him. It's a 13 year old boy for Christ sake

The reporting and story appears very one-sided, as it does not say whether they are reporting eye witness account, or the account of the other sibling (boy's sister).

The matter, I read is being investigated by the military police, it is best to wait for the results of their investigation before commenting.

Until then, I would just suggest that it is never wise or safe under any circumstances to curse or throw insults at an armed soldier or any armed person for that matter.
