The coast is now clear for Governor Yahaya Bello to pick the sole governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 16 Kogi election.

Insider reports confirmed that the Kogi governorship screening committee of the ruling APC, headed by Senator Hope Uzodinma, has screened out major contenders for the party ticket. Sixteen aspirants were screened ny the committee.

The source confirmed that former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin; a former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Abdullahi Sani-Lulu; sons of former Governor Abubakar Audu, Mohammed and Mustapha; former National Airspace Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) boss, Prof. Seidu Ogah; Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Barr Babatunde Irukera; Veteran journalist Yakubu Mohammed and five others failed the screening.

Only four aspirants were cleared to contest for the party ticket. They are, Governor Bello, Hon. Hassan Baiwa, Mrs Ekele Blessing and Engr. Bashir Gegu.

Kogi State Data Boys are the assembly of some intellectual educated but jobless youth who has no source of making a decent live. In most cases, Data boys are so smart when it comes to extortion and begging of money, they have the tendency of defending, appraising and commending a government who has visibly failed the masses, on the media, they have the capacity to change the perception of the people to theirs. Data boys are so intelligent when it comes to extortion of money, they do their own without threats, they extort monies from commissioner of Agric to Commissioner of Finance, they beg from the Chief of Staff down to the Speaker. Their main salaries is 10 thousand naira per month. Kogi Data boys are hopeless.
Ordinarily, Kogi data boys who are mostly jobless would have been engaged with employment by their principals but they were not. They were kept to do the dirty job on the media, they now come online and boasfully hail themselves of being a DATA BOYS, won't you rather weep for them? I sympathize with them anyway.
Their penchant to blackmail and traduce the opponents of their principals is second to none, they dish and dispatch lies directly from inside LUGARD HOUSE, this is in order to soothe the ego of their principals and to further justify the job assign to them, they're so bellicose and berserk. KOGI DATA BOYS.
Mostly, some kogi data boys are being deceived into believing that they're on the right track, most of them are being given cars to flex, someone who cannot labour, perspire to generate 20 thousand naira in a month is given car, how does he want to service the car after the government is ousted out? The car will later be sold at a cheap price to offset the house rent.
Interestingly, some of the data boys who are yet to receive their car gift have now intensified efforts in their various capacities, this category of data boys will come under this post to bark, fight and mudsling but do you think I have any reason to engage those whose glory has been exchanged with DATA? kogi data boys are mostly EDUCATED but they're not JUDICIOUS.
DATA BOYS, KOGI STATE CHAPTER are so united, they're so innovative, they can easily come up with new ideas and the methodology to dispatch lies and propaganda. Remember they're receiving salary of 10 thousand naira monthly, this to them, is better than being JOBELESS and LAZY.

Money politics has become the order of the day and the practice is receiving great followership on daily basis. They give money to slyly buy the show-of-hands of the electorate and the voters obliviously auction their votes to the highest bidder, deceitfully supposing that is the paramount of what they expect from their leaders.
The foremost delinquent with money politics is that politicians have the habit of spending afore election and anticipate returns upon winning and profits before their tenure expires.
Money politics affects the political and all round development of the country as people take politics as an investment and not an avenue to felicitate progressive development.
Nigerian politics has instigated ethnocentricism in the country, thus placing the acquitted populace into human and political servitude as some areas are marginalized for their political,religious and ethnic affiliations which results to uneven development of the country.
As the country is at the threshold of election come 2019, I plead to you my fellow Nigerians, it is time to work collectively for the progress of our fatherland, lets put aside our differences and vote based on charisma and meritocracy.

Amidst claims that a former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has imposed two of his sons, Mohammed and Abubakar on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of 2019 general election, the state PDP publicity Secretary, Mr. Bode Ogunmola has stated that they have rights to contest.


In an exclusive interview with DAILY POST in Lokoja, he insisted that the duo have equal stakes to contest election, describing the controversy as unnecessary.

He confirmed that Mohammed Idris, a one time Reps member representing Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal constituency has collected the interest form to re-contest in 2019.


He also added that Abubakar Idris has also collected form to contest as governor.

Ogunmola further asserted that what was important to Kogi PDP was their electoral values, insisting that both should canvass for votes that would earn them victory.

“That two of the sons of the former governor of Kogi State are contesting election is a fact. It is a fact in the sense that both of them have collected interest form from the state Secretariat which I am aware.


“There is no law anywhere that says if your father was a one time governor, you should not contest.

“What is important is for the aspirants, including those of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris’s children to canvass for votes at the grassroot levels.”

Reacting to alleged preferential treatment of Idris, who is the State PDP leader, he stated that Kogi PDP leadership comprised of people with pedigree that would not compromise or reserve tickets for the highest bidder.

“The PDP guideline is clear on how candidates will emerge and all of them will face primaries. Whoever accuses us of compromise is ungodly and I assure you that there is no automatic ticket for anybody and we will not reserve ticket for the highest bidder,” he added.
